Colapinto to replace Doohan at Alpine for next five rounds

Alpine have confirmed that Franco Colapinto will replace Jack Doohan from the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix onwards, with the squad opting to make the change following a disappointing start to the campaign for Doohan.

    This was absolutely foreseeable the moment they signed a gazillion reserve drivers. Flavio probably wants to do a Toro Rosso and test out as many drivers as possible in that seat

      It’s kind of a shitbag thing to do but also a practical use for an otherwise throwaway season before a regulation change. I can’t say I agree with it but I can see the logic in it.

    Unsurprising - let’s see what Colapinto can do. I haven’t been keeping an eye on how Alpine/Gaslys been doing.
