That’s absolutely correct, the Senate cannot do that.
The Postmaster General can though… and the Postmaster General is appointed by the Postal Service Governance Board, which is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

The ‘Concert for George’, tribute to George Harrison is pretty great.
I mean, if we’re truly keeping count then I think we’re up to WW5 at this point.
Krispy Kreme employs 22,800 people, yet the personal information of 160,000 were stolen. Why do they have personal information for so many people, and why are they keeping that information?
We need privacy laws in this country that make companies scared to hold on to personal data for any longer than absolutely necessary.
I think you’re being a little bit too optimistic here… it won’t even be voted on.

A 79 year old sheriff?!
It is possible the poor weather kept many at home.
Right. Because I’m going to buy a ticket to DC, rent a hotel room, tell my friends I’m going… and then not go because it’s raining.
I get the appeal of Bambu printers, I’ve been tempted myself to get one… but the thing that keeps me away is that they are closed source and I don’t want a world with closed source 3D printers because when the company goes evil - and they all eventually do - I don’t want to be held hostage. I’ve fallen in that trap before and don’t want to again.
Don’t give them backlash, instead stop using their printers. Release your models under a license that requires the printer that prints it to be open source. Let friends and colleagues know the dangers of supporting such a company.
Foldables… and phones.
The solution is to have stronger privacy laws.
If everyone followed your solution then Graphene will become the normie os and Facebook will start targeting it. Choosing an esoteric system for yourself is a good way for a free people to protect their privacy, but it won’t scale.
When we write our new constitution we need to include privacy as a right.
I just saw an amazing concert at a venue built and paid for by the local government of a nearby town. You can only get tickets through the venue (no Ticketmaster), parking is free, prices are reasonable and it is an absolutely beautiful venue that artists want to perform in.
This is in a very red state (and very red town) in the US. There’s still some good stuff out there if you look away from the horror show that’s our federal government.
Yeah, but odds are that’s bullshit to cover up the real story.
Is this where Musk got his black eye?

I was curious if anyone had actually tested it or not, and I found the video above where they get right into it, without any intros or family history or begging to like & subscribe… just a short video where they test it and find that, YES!, the brake lights do come on when you use the steering wheel paddle brake or when you’re in L gear and take your foot off the accelerator.
I just got a Chevy Volt and when I let up off the accelerator it will start the regen and significantly decrease my speed. I assume that my brake lights are coming on because so far no one has rear-ended me or yelled at me for not having brake lights. I wish there was a good way to tell for sure though. I think it’s Hyundai that does not engage the brake lights for situations like this, as I’ve about hit one before.
Why does AT&T have customer SSNs?
I mean, I get that they need those in order to run credit checks… but once the credit check has been run they have no need to keep that data.
We need REAL data protection laws that make even the largest corporations afraid to keep user data for any longer than absolutely necessary.
Oh, I get it and I don’t blame my employer. They are also moving some manufacturing from China to the US, however it won’t be at my location… funny enough, it just so happens to be in a blue state.
If we weren’t talking about real people’s lives it would be funny to see just how miserably the trump tariffs have failed.
I work for a company that manufactures medical equipment. We have manufacturing sites all over the world, but the vast majority is manufactured in the US. Last week it was announced that 20% of the manufacturing at my site is going to be moved to China due to the tariffs.
Lots of people in my deep red state will be losing their jobs because of this.
Looks more like pigs under a sheet than pigs in a blanket.
The message is that billionaires can pay ‘more’ taxes, not that they have to pay on unrealized gains.
