I tried the update on two different machines (one with a SATA SSD boot drive, other with M.2), and my Steam startup time is still about 15 seconds on both.

I’ve thought more about the dangers of artificial consciousness than you would expect.
It inherently isn’t torture though. I prefer punishing people who actually commit torture.
Transistors switching really fast = emotions lul

18·17 days agoI tried the video editor and photo editor. Lot’s of missing features, but to give them credit the project isn’t even a week old from initial release. I don’t even think effects work at all in the video editor. Then, GIF support is totally broken/missing in the photo editor. But the base structure is there, but right now they’re more like simple programs dressed up as complex programs because of the amount of broken or missing feaures.
I got a 1 TB SN850X for $90 a couple years ago for my game and page file drive. Also Patriot 2x8 5600 for like $80 in 2023. Very disappointing what has happened since then.

0·20 days agoWell, Windows can install fine from DVDs afaik. I don’t do W11 on it because it got too large for single layer. But I own a bluray drive and blank discs which are cheaper to use as permanent OS install sources than USB drives. The drive also helps if I want to run emulators that can play discs.
At the same time I’m not even sure the disc was the reason the original install bugged. I was just looking through settings to get acquainted then it quit.

0·21 days agoYes. I might at least try Ubuntu on the Linux partition I have before I wipe it. But I did find out StartAllBack is sick for Windows 11 so usability wise it will be fine.

0·21 days agoCan they theoretically implement the subsampling mode into Wayland if they wanted to, but they haven’t gotten to it, or is it actually locked out?

0·21 days agoCan I ask how you were able to see my post if it doesn’t show in the community page? Also, would you know if the Wayland ycbcr issue will affect all distributions?
