Mind rule 2 buddy

I’ve only found smut ones, and sporadically only. If there’s others, I didn’t get lucky to find yet.
But if there are no sources for DRM-free anime, maybe worth for consumers to pressure for that. Could be a good time now that right to repair and stop killing games movements are gaining traction. =)

Oof. Quite a lot.
Not familiar with most, but makes me wonder how many of these are on physical media, sold DRM free digitally, or at least available elsewhere through streaming.
At the same time, #Crunchyroll has a monopoly on #anime overseas, and removes most #physicalmedias from the store. And engineered tragedy, it feels like.
Did a reverse search and found this:

Not a fan of chat rooms but nice not being an informational blackhole for once.
I wonder how’s compatibility with Wafrn and people who follow @[email protected] though…
Dunno if it’s on vinyl, but if it is, maybe from the movie Suzume?

I get the impression some people are put in power precisely to parasite and destroy the brands and companies they inherit.

For you to remember, perhaps not needed. As Reannlegge mentioned, if a banking or payment service you use allow setting recurring payments, that’s a good option. Also if the developer or developers are on platforms that allow recurring payments, like Patreon, it’s also interesting.
For reminding others, when talking about such projects, include a reminder to support every now and then, though avoid spamming or speaking only very sporadically.

People often push back because of the link being YouTube
Idea to mitigate this (or for any other domains people get screechy at):
First entry to be some redirect script, even perhaps a community-maintained one as from what I dug on the matter a while back, replacing the domain in a link with e.g. Violent Monkey is pretty trivial, at worse requiring some regex and JavaScript knowledge.

Also as I sent the reply, I remembered something, if posting here in the fediverse, maybe worth making a community just for that, or finding an already existing one. While intent would be legitimate, these posts could be seen as spam in more general communities for being a type of ad.

Something I’d suggest is to keep a list people can suggest products to, and make a post for each of your finds, the post itself pointing to the list. It would be pretty much just you feeding the list in the beginning, but with enough patience, and a healthy influx of posts (no spam but also no overly sporadic posts), people should start joining in the discussion.

Haven’t tested making posts on PieFed, but will try later.

Also I don’t think I’ve seen Pleroma devs in the wild before, and users I also don’t generally see, so going by the premise of what you said, @[email protected].
And the fediverse can be quite diverse, and so long as the software licenses are respected, there’s not much devs or external instances can interfere legitimately.

If you mean “people that use Pleroma”, it’s not the end of the world. You just need to block or avoid people that flock to a given instance, or do that for the instances themselves.
If you mean the devs, maybe keep an archived fork of the software being used, and use that if they start causing problems that damage the quality of the software, and move to that build while you refactor your instance.

In my case, as I’m mainly on Mbin, when I get to host my own instances (life got in the way when I tried…), I’d probably make, besides the new Mbin instance:

Personally, I’d pick Mbin, Friendica or PieFed.
I can observe two main types of social media style in the fediverse, microblogging-styled (e.g. Twitter-inspired), or group-styled (e.g. Reddit / BBS-inspired).
The rest’s usually variations of these two, or are interoperable to varying degrees with these main types.
And Mbin, Friendica and PieFed all explicitly try to integrate groups and microblogging, meaning they’d be the more overarching ones.
And sure, one solution always means sacrificing another, so alts may still be needed.
And on Pleroma’s case, it would seem it supports communities but only partially? I wonder if it’s like Mastodon. If so, your feed can become noisy.

@[email protected] I did try the day I made the post. Windows’ device manager was more helpful because it updated as soon as I plugged or unplugged a device, even confirming something was indeed happening because the list blinked every time it was updated. Thus that allowed me to do it multiple times in a row while watching which entry appeared or disappeared from the list without the need to keep inputting the commands manually.
Missed motion blur, bloated UI, boring QTEs, reusing past ideas…
Jokes aside, very good XD
