  • Yeah I went back and looked at what mine looked like at 8 months and they were bigger than yours but not by much. For comparison I’m over a decade into hormones and recently posted a pic of my boobs.

As for what’s changed, I think that’s partly it. When I started it was the default to be given oral estrogen and have to request injections or explain sublingual to your doctor. But I think there’s more to it as well, the rise of estrogen monotherapy may be a factor. But also, you used to get tapered on, and slowly at that, rather than just being given the standard dose and seeing how your levels looked. It used to be much more common for doctors to target low end of female levels than the middle/what feels right. But also, the rise in telling trans women to eat while transitioning rather than the pressure to lose weight while transitioning is something I suspect is huge. We used to hold ourselves much closer to mainstream cishet beauty standards and with that was an expectation of skinniness, despite the fact that it can wait until you’re done with the major changes to your body from going through puberty again.

And yeah, self care is vital. I know it’s cliche to say that nobody else can love you until you love yourself, and it’s not quite true, my wife started loving me before then. But not loving yourself and especially not taking care of yourself does make it take more work for others to love you, and it was a point of conflict early in my relationship. It also leaves you more at risk of abusive relationships. And as for what to do about it: make friends and try to attend trans community events, especially ones focused on transfems.

And yeah, that’s generally a healthy approach. I dislike the risks and side effects of them. I really wish that fat replacement augmentation was safer, if it was I’d likely do it, but that’s as someone who feels cheated out of large boobs and has to settle for medium.

8 months is earlyish. You should have some growth by now, but it could be pretty small. They often grow a lot between 6-24 months. They’ll continue with mild growth throughout adulthood. Also some people experience puberty faster or slower than others.

I’ll admit, recent transitioners these days seem to be getting way more tit than was normal back in my day. I was downright stacked for a trans woman 9 years ago, but I’m still nowhere near some of my family (but also bustier than some).

So yeah, make a point to eat when you’re hungry, and if you notice you’re really hungry lately compared to usual that’s a sign to eat your fill because your chest is going to be sore soon.

And yeah, unfortunately it’s like gardening, you can’t force them to grow, but you can give them every opportunity to grow as much as they will. After about 2 or so years of hormones if you’re still unsatisfied you can look into if surgical options are right for you (I personally lean away from them and recommend reevaluating your relationship with your body and trying to love it as it is over a boob job, but I still consider one every once in a while)

  • You’re still a bit early into hrt, right? My advice is to make sure your E levels are good (look up what cis levels are, some doctors underdose), make sure your E administration route is good (oral is worst, patches, implant, gel, or injection are best, sublingual should be equivalent to the better options, but is less reliable, I recommend injections), make sure you eat enough (boobs are mostly fat and growing them takes a fair amount of calories), and take progesterone rectally

And yeah that’s what I did. There are other tricks and tips that I’ve seen people talk about, including supplements, but that’s all less evidence based that what I said. I wish there was a magical cup size pill or something, but until they develop something of the sort, it’s all gonna be ymmv and stuff like this. Oh also it’ll take time.

And yeah, don’t let insecurity keep you from what you want to do

  • Oh absolutely, the fact that it looks so good is part of what drew me to it (in addition to being the sort of broke student who’d rifle through the sex shop clearance bin). But yeah why it was made is baffling. Like, it’s too nice to be a joke product, you’d go with that jelly material for that… Idk, maybe some people just like the idea of fucking corn

Ok, and now I’m kinda wanting some artsy glass dildos in the same way you’d get with fancy bongs and cannabis pipes…

  • Exactly, it’s one of the things we do most correctly. It’s inefficient and it works worse under ideal conditions. But a government shouldn’t be a finely tuned machine that only works when everything is going right. It’s a lumbering mess that’s going to be sabotaged, poorly stewarded, and have maintenance deferred. It’s your daily driver car and you probably ain’t both rich (and sure you’ll stay that way) and the sort excited to spend all your time working on it. A Porsche will just give you problems when you defer maintenance, what you want is the Honda or Toyota best fit to your needs with the bells and whistles you really need. Jury trial is the justice system for that.

It forces the government to get the consent of the governed before it sentences anyone to anything. If the grand jury says “these charges are vindictive bullshit” they can stop a trial from even happening. If they let it through then another set of 12 citizens have to be convinced (beyond a reasonable doubt if it’s criminal, which would be prosecuted by the government, or a preponderance of the evidence if it’s a civil trial, which is prosecuted by the victim). And that’s why Trump keeps pushing to reduce jury trials.

  • So weird phenomenon actually, because our military is fully metricated, you wind up with some of the most die hard American exceptionalist/American nationalist types fully using metric and 24 hour time. A friend was raised in a household like that where they just didn’t use US customary at home because the military doesn’t.

We’re all taught a lot of the basics in school. And yeah we have an instinctive idea of what 2L looks like. Drug users know grams, as do some bakers (a lot of baking is still done by volume here). And other than that I’d say maybe a quarter of Americans know that a meter is kinda close to a yard. Maybe 5% (may be overestimating tbh) know that a liter of water is a kilogram.

Slowly but surely though more things are being roundish numbers in metric here (like 325 mL/12.9 fluid ounces) and I think that’s a vital component of the move to metric. We are actually headed there, we’re just slower than the UK and Canada.
