On Capitol Hill this week, an ideologically mixed group of House Democrats called on their party to embrace a “fighting spirit of patriotic economic populism”.

“Democrats need to wake up and stop defending elites and the establishment,” the representative Chris Deluzio, who represents a competitive Pennsylvania district, said in a floor speech.

“This embrace of economic patriotism might sound and look different depending on where in this country and who the messenger is,” he continued. “But we agree that the era of a spineless Democratic party must end.”

While I agree, progressives need to stop playing by the rules that everyone is ignoring anyway and actually have the balls (or ovaries) to stand up to these rest of these pricks. Understandably they fear retribution, but guess what, that’s a risk of being a leader. It would seem that noone has the gumption to rise to the occasion.

I wonder if Bernie and AOC’s mini tour wasn’t partially gauging the plausibility of starting a new party. Dems are just as lost as the GOP is evil. This would be the time in the cycle to do that.

I’d be down if they did that. I’d jump ship for a progressive labor party or something along those lines, especially if led by them.

The question is would most democrats?
