Here’s one. Definitely working for a crime family.
You get to hear about one when you’re rich enough, because you can’t become rich beyond a certain level without being a crook.

This is not a very convincing argument anymore: with AI, there’ll only one path left soon. And it’s not the one where you sit on your ass in front of a computer all day.

You would think getting pardoned by the prez for something this heinous is the stroke of luck of a lifetime, and the lucky sumbitches to whom it happened would use the occasion to stay very, very low for the rest of their wretched lives. Right?
But no: 7.5% of them managed to waste their good fortune and go right back to the slammer. Being this fucking dumb is nothing short of amazing.
Then again, the Juice did it too, and he wasn’t a dumbass MAGAt…

Happy 250th anniversary America…

District court judges not trusting the DOJ not to pull a fast one is fucking wild.
It’s truly a bizarro alternate reality we’ve all fallen into years ago…

Hmm yeah.
Shame…

Those are huge seashells!

That’s a good one.
I hope it’s not AI.

Killing in war, when necessary is almost “free”.
It’s thinking like that that’s the reason war still exists. Everybody thinks killing is awful, apart in certain circumstances when it’s okay, when it’s in fact never okay.

Military training exists to brainwash decent human beings with a sense of morality and critical thinking abilities, who know they mustn’t kill and would refuse requests to kill, into killing machines who are proud to follow orders (and then experience PTSD when they’re returned to civilian life and realize what they’ve done).
Therefore, I contend that fully autonomous drones have killed human beings since wars have been a thing, and those drones are called “soldiers”.

He dead
Somebody should tell him that.

Enjoy what you voted for…

They should subpoena Noam Chomsky, to shame him and make him pay for his hypocrisy.

More about this monstrosity here.
I’m pretty sure destroying it would finally let the soul of Jimmy Carter find some rest.

10. Telegraph Operator
The OM who taught me Morse code when I passed my ham radio license in the 80s was a long-retired telegraph operator. He recounted how he got his job:
He saw a ad for a job at his local Western Union telegraph office in the classifieds. He was already a ham radio enthusiast, so he figured he’d give it a shot. He showed up at the date and time indicated in the ad and sat in the waiting room with a bunch of other candidates for a long time. Nobody showed up to interview anybody. So he waited with all the others.
Then finally he got up and went straight to the recruiter’s office without prompting. He said he suddenly realized, while he was waiting there, that among the machinery noises and the clickety-clicks of the paddles, someone was continuously keying “If you can read this, go straight to the recruiter’s door.”
The office wanted only the very best telegraphists who lived and breathed the job. They figured someone who automatically listening to Morse code traffic when they heard something, and not just while on the job, was the kind of person they wanted.

I renounced my citizenship in 2002, just after Dubya shat out the USA Patriot Act - the first piece of overtly fascist and unconstitutional US legislation. And it was NOT cheap back then.
The US taxes you if you’re an American living and earning money abroad, even if you don’t live in the US and you don’t use any US public service. And if you want off the hamster will, the US makes you pay one last time for the privilege.
Why? Because it’s a mafia state, when it’s not a fascist one too.

Oh noes! Don’t piss off Jared Kushner! He’s our only hope for peace with Iran or something…

Most people who have to eat have no say in the matter.
It doesn’t matter what LLMs can and can’t do well: all they have to do is do stuff a person does well enough for the price of the tokens they consume to make that person’s occupation vanish if it’s cheaper - and it almost always is. The metric companies use is cost, not quality. Because that’s how capitalism works.
