Did you need an adjoining room for your kids?
Ok, so sharing my experience is bad? I never said that the things that happened to me happen to everyone. In fact in other threads I said most travelers are traveling dor business and not with kids. So the adjoining room and such doesn’t matter then, and is probably why plenty of people haven’t experienced my issues. But I’m the bad guy because I didn’t rip on airbnb or something? Ok. I thought this wasn’t reddit. My bad.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you sent a lone modern tank like a Abrams, Leopard, or black panther back to WW2 with a continuous supply of spare parts, ammo, fuel etc. Would it make a difference?
3·3 days agoI am going to say yes. The plane. If you kept it a secret, and then used it to bomb a place you knew hitler was, and you knew could not survive the bombing. Otherwise it would depend how good the allies intel was. Nightly bombing of the war factories with percise weapons would cripple the nazis after a while. It’s why the allies tried to do it with the tech they had, even though the survival rate of their bombers was not great. But the accuracy was problematic, and the destructive force they could deliver was not enough to knock things offline for too long. But it did make a sifference. So a modern plane could speed that up a lot. And it could do so from higher than any defense at the time could reach.
I am just describing my experience. Just because it wasn’t yours doesn’t mean it is wrong. Of course with an ego the size of yours, that is probably something you can’t fathom.
So the idea in general isn’t sooo terrible. It’s just worded all wrong. My opinion is that in any group of adults who what to have careers outside the home, they probably need someone to manage the home. Single no kids. Should be fine. Two or more adults (of any sex mind you) gunna need help to stay sane. Kids involved… even a single person needs help.
Now of course… calling it a second wife is upsurd. You need a housekeeper. And if kids are involved you need a housekeeper/nanny. Here is the catch though. If you pay them what they deserve for that hard work and endless patience. Then they are practially a spouse money wise. And of course it can be a guy or girl.
I do honestly think a more communal ish approach is best. Have several couples or even singles who prefer work outside the home to bringnin the money. Then have several who handle the home and children in a joint mannor. But alll the money is essentially pooled for the betterment of the group. Jusst keep the group small. The real problem is social dynamics get in the way a lot.
While true, those same non-virtues will get in the way. Only men on average are less likely to self reflect and address them. So the pickings will be slim.
The gas one was a luxury hotel in Oregon. The place overall was nice. But very short on staff. And thenone person at the front desk was clearly brain dead.
The others… major chains here and there as well as mgm properties in vegas.
Most travelers don’t travel with kids. They are usually traveling for business. So they don’t have the issues of adjoining rooms, or having to put 3 or 4 people in one room. Even the “suites” often only have one toilet. That’s because they cater to the solo travelers, or couples. They don’t really want families.
Never had either of those issues. And never knew anyone who actually had those issues for real. Just random internet people who claim it happened. Though I do favor vrbo over airbnb. But I doubt it’s much different.
Well, vegas, Bellagio, vdara, aria… The gas issue was a luxury hotel in oregon. And outside of the gas issue, the place was certianly nice. Just brain dead front desk lady with no one else on sight.
Adjoining rooms. If you don’t travel with kids, you don’t know that pain. But 95% won’t guarantee anything. Of the 5%, they are always mysterious “sold out” of that thpe of room, though they have plenty of room empty.
Outside the US is different for sure.
Hotel: what do you mean you want guaranteed adjoining rooms. We don’t do that. You just have to roll the dice when you show up. Oh, and show up late, we will give you a room with the dumpster outside that gets emptied at 6am.
Also hotel when the room is in obvious disrepair: maintenance has gone home for the day (at the 4pm allowed checkin time), call again tomorrow to get the whining AC unit looked at. Oh and the windows don’t open and we don’t have fans.
Hotel: you want two toilets for your family of 3 since we can’t get you adjoining rooms? Ha ha ha. No.
Hotel: resort fees for the fitness room you don’t need or want. Yeah, those aren’t refundable.
Hotel: you smell gas in your room. That is completely normal, I with my degree in (maybe high school) am sure it is completly safe.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•In Star Wars, what would it mean "to bring balance to The Force?"
0·7 days agoHave you ever listened to the actual lyrics of “the final countdown” by europe. Star wars is pretty much just like that. Nonsense.
Also true. So safe to say, you cannot get everything you need to make 20 burgers for $25.
I was on a work zoom during covid. One guy was getting an award, (6 months before they told him to leave or be fired by the way) and the lady from “leadership” was talking about how she always enjoyed their chats near the eating area (before covid), and over teams he sent a message to a few of us that said “I have never spoken to her in my entire time here”. She was so fake none of us doubted it for an instant. Funny as hell.
Should package such a thing and sell it. With the names on them and all.
The burgers on a real plate and all are 1/4 lbs. Not 3 oz. They are 3oz after cooking though. And the thing is, you can’t buy a quarter head of lettuce. So bump all those partials up to full units you can buy. Cause many will have the unused part thrown away. Then don’t forget the cost to cook it. Propane, or charcoal, or whatever. And you need something to clean all the dishes and utensiles… we can call the cost of the dishes and utensiles a wash though, just about everyone uses those all the time. But the grill… toss about $5 toward it. The cheap ones don’t last long, and you need a flipper and such. Now the big thing you are skipping is the time. Time to go to the store, time to prep. Time to cook, and the worst one usually… time to make a meal plan that includes this before hand, rather than just going out to eat when you haven’t planned. And in some families… one or more persons won’t eat the damn burger, so you have to make something else they will eat…
I thought they were super cheap or something. I don’t eat them myself.

Apologies. I got threads confused in my head. Some people really felt the need to make personal attacks for stating my opinion. This was not that thread.
