I was about to say it’s easier to wash tiles that a rug, but realized “out off sight, out of mind” is probably the actual strategy here.

The way the dog’s eyes are blocked out by cucumber slices and its posture give me Weekend at Bernie’s vibes, I’m so sorry 🙈
Why would you want a piss rug in the first place?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a gender neutral honorific for non-binary folk?
1·3 months agoYeah, in Scandinavia you just say “you” or use a person’s name when referring to somebody else. Or their job title if it fits the context. You can really feel that you’re not “below” anybody, we all deserve the same level of respect and the language reflects that. Additionally, you don’t need to guess anybody’s gender if you’re not sure, avoids uncomfortable situations.
My best effort explanation: Z-ah-i-on-ts, “i” as in “fit”.
I love the detail with the small leak from the pipe going through the wall and into the tub
Her secret is skill issue…?
B-but Scrubs’ musical episode was great!

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•What's your current situation with Google?
0·4 months agoI sometimes buy used stuff from people and drive to their houses to get the items. I was surprised to find out that while Google maps was very outdated on more recent buildings and neighborhoods, Organic maps and Mapy were all correct. Sometimes a whole street was missing and I struggled to find the way, so I stopped using it.
Transit is tough if you don’t have options though. The official transit app for my city is leagues better than Google so I’ve never had a reason to look elsewhere.

5·4 months agoWe have free sitting at our office, so I sit in different floors throughout the workweek and sometimes get “the bad chair” if all the good ones are taken. It sucks. I would rather be in a cubicle.
Hell yeah, ethical Plex guy!
I have a Plex guy. He runs a server and invites anyone he considers a friend, but also gives access to most who ask. He has a giant rig that costs him a lot in electricity bills. But he doesn’t mind and doesn’t want any money, because he’s a sweet person and it’s just something he does.
Edit: I’m in Europe; also he always honors requests.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•AI migrating svg icons to a different icon set
5·5 months agoI didn’t ask AI to generate new icons, but to extract SVG code from individual icons wee decided to use and migrate my existing icon components to the new SVG code. It’s monkey work and I wanted to see if it could manage.
Well, the “mówić” part is not present, the root of the word is more similar to “niemy”, meaning “mute”; the Polish word comes from “non-speaker”, as in “not speaking at all”. but that’s just speculation on my part, I’m no linguist or etymologist 🤷♀️

Funny@sh.itjust.works•Someone turned on AI Facilitator for Teams meetings at workEnglish
10·5 months agoOh, absolutely. Some coworkers don’t understand it though.
They keep on doing it because it’s an addictive substance and/or as a form of self harm, unfortunately. Benadryl is very cheap and easy to get, so troubled teenagers try it looking for a break from reality, thinking hallucinogens are all similar. Then they often get stuck taking it every day, destroying their health. It’s very sad.

Huh, I’m surprised that so many people in the thread don’t like raspeball. I am not native, but my partner is and his grandma makes the most delicious raspeball. The whole family looks forward to it every year, they eat it a few days after Christmas. Too salty and cardboard sounds like it was badly made.
