Apparently Ukraine also has in their constitution that elections cannot be held while an invasion is in progress. So even if one were inclined to think like the idiot above they’re just following the rules that have already been established.
Zelensky has actually publicly said to Trump, that if the United States can guarantee 60 days of ceasefire (apparently that’s how long it would take to hold an election) than they can have an election. Knowing, that of course that the United States can’t guarantee anything when it comes to Russia, because Trump is Putins lil bitch.
It’s also worth noting that historically, populations are hesitant to replace governments during a time of occupation even if the administration had been relatively unpopular prior to the invasion. Not that I think he was unpopular. It is generally understood that during a war the government don’t have an awful lot to do with military decisions so changing the government is not productive.
The only reason Russia would agree to a ceasefire is if they thought the result would return a pro-russia politician, which is of course unlikely to happen.

If you want the actual answer it’s because you can’t. There is very little voltage going through those cables, and there is no data line at all.
If you wanted to recharge your phone through a cable like that it would take about 10 years.
You can get high quality armoured recharge cables, they’re not even all that expensive, you just don’t get them in the box. Apple don’t even give you a charger these days, so is it really all that hard to believe that they would give you the cheapest version of the cable?

I have a recent newborn and I keep thinking that when he’s like 15 or so and starting to learn about world politics he’s not going to believe me that the United States was want to major world player. He is going to think I am lying to him. It would be like your parents trying to tell you that Africa was once a United country and had the largest military on the planet. I’d actually put good money on this not happening. Russia isn’t really geared up to deliver oil like that they’re all about the pipelines.
Also whatever tankers they do send will have to get past if fleet of pissed off European fleets. Remember countries like Estonia went through some relatively severe economic hardship in order to sanction Russia, and then the United States comes along and does a deal with Russia to save themselves from a war that they started. Perhaps maintaining good relations with the United States is no longer worth it? I could totally see an oil tanker getting bordered.
