World News@lemmy.world•Israel Refused to Help Ukraine to Avoid ‘Upsetting Russia,’ Former UK Defence Secretary SaysEnglish
41·7 days agoWell that’s an understatement, the countries are closely aligned with trying to destroy final institutions like international law, war crimes, and both are actively trying to redraw borders through force, not to mention the leaders having active arrest warrants from the ICC. That’s before you even get started on the Epstein blackmail network and manipulation of influential people around the world. They are so aligned the most surprising thing is that people are surprised by statements like this

0·8 days agoSeeing behind can be tricky on a bike, it’s not safe to turn your head when moving fast and often you need to watch in front as well as see behind, eg to pass an obstacle. Some kind of rear view can be handy, although mirrors are also possible to use

World News@lemmy.world•Germany moves to criminalize denial of Israel's existence | The Jerusalem PostEnglish
9·15 days agoSo… does calling for a revised state in Israel/Palestine that is democratic and without bias towards one race break this law? It is calling for Israel in its current form to be replaced
Sure, you could also simply stand around looking at things saying “hmmmm…”. After all every observation is unique, so you could accept all the differences and just observe it as it is, say “hmmmm” and then move on to the next unique and special observation. Trying to identify commonality and give it names just throws away most of the information in each unique and special experience

World News@lemmy.world•While the world scrambles for oil, China sits on full tanksEnglish
3·1 month agoThe article is contradicting itself. It is saying they are not tapping their reserves, because they bought excess before the war to accumulate inventories. Are they using their inventories or not? You can probably just sum up the whole article by saying they stored a lot of oil before the war (but are obviously using it if they are not relying on imports)
