I bought the Flirc Skip remote and an using it on steam big picture mode. It’s not perfect, and I had some issues configuring it in Linux, but once I did it works pretty well. Can even navigate the steam ui. Fails on browser things though like YouTube in Firefox kiosk mode.

Honestly even coding challenges now… Do they even make sense anymore? You can teach people if they don’t have the right stack, but if they are a dick…

I have to deal with M$ onsite at work regularly. They are mandated to use copilot for basically everything now. When you ask them for tech guidance, it’s a copilot answer. Presentations are generated by copilot. It’s cringe to say the least. I can only imagine that’s how it is for all their products now.

I think it has an open a lot to add another dimm. Swear I saw a video on exactly that. 16gb dimm is expensive at $230 right now but that price would be the same for any system. But then you’d be dual channel

I’ve moved the whole house to Fedora KDE. Every laptop. The only things not running it, Steamdeck and Unraid server.

I wrote a script for first installs, its mostly to make my life easier, but you might like it too. I wrote it for Fedora 42, and updated it for 43, but it should run fine on 44 as well.
