I care about artists getting paid. Sure, hate collectors all you want, but getting rid of them reduces the purchases artists do get.

Of course provenance matters in appreciation of art. Do museums put up fake artwork or do they only try and show actual pieces from the artist.

People who buy art absolutely care if the artwork they paid for is genuine. Collectors absolutely care if they can prove they own something that others don’t.

Sure, if you don’t care about artists getting paid at all, or you don’t care about authenticity, then NFTs aren’t for you.

Provenance is the biggest issue in Art. NFTs aren’t stupid, thinking that computer generated ape artwork with no actual scarcity is a good investment is stupid.

Scientists that use AI aren’t likely to remain good scientists for long.

The cost to create more coke is essentially zero. The price to ship and stock the different sizes are about the same though.

The iPhone was never sold or offered with support for other stores. Just because you want access doesn’t mean Apple has to provide its services for free. Make a web app, attract your own users, and convince them to pay for it.

Apple has also cultivated a user base that has money and a willingness to spend on the platform. If you like android better spend your time there. If it is so easy to replicate what Apple has done then stop complaining and do it yourself.

I develop apps as well. Apple provides the platform, the users, advertising, user friendly rules that promote spending, the store, delivering updates, etc. last I saw iPhone users spent significantly more money than Android folks. You may want all of the same functionality without paying for it but you are not entitled to Apple’s technology. So you can either pay for their services or you can roll your own. How much time and effort and cost will it take to replicate all of that? Again, the claims that 30% is robbery is inconsistent with the far higher prices developers had to pay pre-Apple store. That didn’t come with auto updates either.
