  • That’s how the game is supposed to work. It’s the point of it.

It was made during the first gilded age when wealth inequality was at its highest levels (until now), and was literally an example of how capitalism is bad and prices people out of even being able to afford a cheap place to rent, and when they can’t pay rent, they go to jail.

It is not a happy game, and to this day I don’t understand why people assume it’s a happy go lucky kids game (at least that was the impression I was given when I was introduced to the game)

  • Seems to fit the official definition pretty neatly. Colloquially, I tend to agree with you, there’s a spectrum for fraud. But this still counts as fraud. It’s a fraudulent misrepresentation of the truth to convince others to part with something of value (a gift).

The fact that it’s a gift doesn’t change that this is fraud, only the severity of fraud in a legal sense.

  • And more resilient to weather/time/etc. for transporting in sub-optimal conditions.

There’s also the possibility that since this is edible and exposed, putting this in a warehouse would invite a horde of rodents and insects.

It’s a good idea, but the reason we haven’t done this before is because it creates inconvenient problems for distribution centers and the logistics of transportation and storage. Which in the short and long run, costs more money to either prevent the negative outcomes, or deal with them later.

It is better for the environment, but I’d rather go after billionaires and huge corporations polluting the environment without repercussions first.
