The Arch and NixOS users feel attacked.

The C++ takedown video was amazing, this video seems like it was made by a person who couldn’t gather their thoughts and just goes off on tangents. Is there a problem with the rust memory model? Is borrowing theoretically incorrect? What actually is the purported problem? I guess we won’t know until they make a new structured video.

The bigger question isv will you be able to tell whether it’s an AI contribution or not.
Many discussions are about recognising slop, but the world isn’t black and white. There are worlds between pure AI garbage submitted by somebody who has no idea about software development, AI assisted coding with an expert, handwritten garbage, and artisanal “expert” code. I doubt anybody writing good code before the slopocalypse will be filtered out by any anti-AI policy. Their code may be written by AI or not and I bet you won’t be able to tell.
Yeah, I think calling out the demise of opensource is too early as there isn’t enough data to support such a position.
😩 If you want to be absurdly narrow minded and treat OSI like some deity, their word like a holy book, and anything outside of that scripture or benediction as heresy, then maybe you’ll see the arrival of AI as some kind of ragnarok.
Opensource will change but it won’t be “killed”. You can’t and won’t stop people putting the code for their projects online. The stuff you (or your agent or whatever) publish will continue to be used as an open portfolio.
A good amount of stuff published will be filth and indistinguishable from clonker filth or human filth. Additionally, local AI will also become more common. Making your code indistinguishable will also make the “AI code is unlicensable” argument worthless. Go prove that the trash heap I published was written while drunk and high or by an AI.

Yes, insult the other person because you disagree, that’ll be a nice interaction.

The reaction to KDE4 was overblown. Some cavedwellers with access to internet and too much free time shit on it constantly, just like the anti-systemd crowd, but I used KDE4 throughout its lifetime and still use KDE (6 now).

Studies have shown that professors can’t tell apart AI from student submissions of writing. People like to believe they can recognise AI written or AI assisted code, but they are terrible at it.

I found element quite alright compared to teams, honestly. I wish the EU actually invested money in matrix to make it better instead of just using the base and building a bunch of stuff on top of it.

Voice calls aren’t the issue. Teams isn’t just for calling

Which project is it?

If they were gaming at work, maybe teamspeak would make sense.

OpenRadioss project as the open-source version opened up by Altair Engineering under the GNU AGPL License back in 2022
GNU AGPL? They better be sued. The license doesn’t allow being closed source, unlike the cuck licenses.

Bloody hell, can this guy just shut up? Fucking edgelord.

Those are 2 years worth of vulns - from 2024 until now. Why is this news ?

Put it on radicle and watch them try to take it down. It’ll be hilarious.

That’s difficult to answer. I’m always distrustful of anything closed source, especially a library. If it just stops existing and whatever I wrote depends on it, then I’ll need to find a replacement without the ability to start maintaining a fork myself. In this case, if it really can’t be opensourced, then I wouldn’t use it until it became so.
What to opensource ? Examples and example projects based on your library. The rest wouldn’t matter to me so it’d be up to you to opensource whatever you think you can.

Where’s the code?
Power state? Is that what’s going on?
