0·7 days agoI wish I had Aldi where I live:( I grew up on them so their brand has always tasted normal to me, plus I love the no bs layout (and the german chocolate selection). I miss their crunchy cheese curls. Cheetos brand has always tasted stale in comparison.

0·7 days agoI had to kick my chip habit when they started pushing $3.50+ a bag:( Kettle made it easier for me by changing the recipe for my former favorite, their jalapeño chips, into a ghost of their former glory. Now they just taste like sweet onion like all the other jalapeño flavored chips.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's Stopping you from using PeerTube?
8·7 days agoI only use youtube for a handful of specific channels (including livestreams for skateboarding events), not for general browsing. None of these channels are cloned on peertube last I checked. I don’t have the equipment or knowledge to host a server myself and even if I did I would feel weird cloning the channels I watch because youtube is the main source of revenue for them.
I support most of the channels I watch on patreon and do remind them occasionally that it would be nice to move away from youtube.

16·8 days agoHopefully people will slowly become more conscientious of the reasons we find things valuable. A beautiful sad song is touching in large part because we empathize with the sad person who wrote it. They put words to something our soul was feeling too. The exact same intonations feel kind of empty if we know it was a computer that generated them.
I just watered my succulent windowsill after like 2 months:( Sorry guys! Time got away from me!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do avid weed users get a hit whilst traveling if it's illegal in certain countries?
14·9 days agoThe heavy weed smokers I know are all capable of taking breaks for things more trivial than the threat of serious jail time (ie taking a break to lower tolerance, taking a break while looking for a new job, etc).

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Can I unroll and let a new mattress start to decompress without taking it out of the plastic wrapping yet?
0·18 days ago2-3 hours. If you really want to limit exposure to the room, and assuming it doesn’t smell super strongly, you could probably put the cover on right away and let the mattress decompress inside of it. You want to avoid putting anything weighty on it but the covers are light. I doubt the cover will be vacuum tight but you could check a few times to make sure it has enough air to keep expanding.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Can I unroll and let a new mattress start to decompress without taking it out of the plastic wrapping yet?
0·18 days agoYep sounds perfect:)
My only addition might be airing it out a bit after you remove the plastic and before you put on the sheets just for the potential smell. Sometimes this is not really a problem but sometimes they smell super chemically at first and benefit from fresh air and a fan.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Can I unroll and let a new mattress start to decompress without taking it out of the plastic wrapping yet?
0·18 days agoNah it will expand as soon as it has room and the vacuum seal is broken and if the plastic limits it from expanding all the way it will finish expanding once the plastic wrapping is removed. Leaving it compressed is perfectly fine.
I’ve gone through a few different brands during some moves and never had a problem. Maybe you could put it in a room without kitties just to expand? It can take some time.

0·18 days agoI agree with Fermion, cut a small hole to let it expand. I would also crack a window, compressed mattresses can smell a bit chemically at first
