As a vegan, if you’re partaking of killing animals for their meat… and your result is that pathetic dry cut of flesh… it’s extra extra evil
At least make it worth it

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I might just be having another episode, but... what is up with dicyanin dye?English
1·3 days agoThere’s similar conspiracies, like this Russian dude found broken glass that, when he looks through it, he sees orbs hovering over places… Like cloaked shit is all around us. He’s posted videos.
Easy enough to fake, sure, but I do pay attention to stories about orbs because they are super common UFO sightings.
I went somewhat deep in the dye conspiracy, couldn’t find anything that seemed legit. I think scammers do take advantage of it and sell fake dye goggles. It got popular enough that you likely won’t find legit stuff without making it yourself and I’m not sure how easy that is.
lol sure there’s good new music, but it’s more that it’s easier to find 10 amazing songs from the past 50 years than 1 current amazing song.
Also most of the issue is that people are lazy as fuck and a lot of cat owners just aren’t cleaning their house as much as they should, but most importantly, scooping the litter box.
Every single night before bed I scoop my cats litter box, add fresh litter, and sweep around it. Every other weekend I mop around it, and try to vacuum up cat hair off surfaces she sits on.
There are people that change their bed sheets every week or two, and people who give you a blank stare when you ask them when they last changed their sheets, like they didn’t realize that was a thing you should do. The latter is like half of humanity, and some of them own cats and let them shit in the same box for weeks without emptying it.
Learn how to season and cook veggies if your warlock child does this

221·4 days agoIf this was a software engineer discussing how to architect something, I’d just nod and agree, it’s not 100% correct but whatever, it’s like a rubber ducky method on steroids.
HOWEVER this is a fucking politician who writes laws. From a national security perspective, this is 100% fucked. There is huge gain to be had out of monitoring their accounts alone, but this is beyond that. It means monitoring and controlling their thought processes.
All Sam Altman has to do is give a special prompt or fine tuned model to politicians and have it lean towards policies he agrees with. You can puppet these dudes by controlling their internal monologue with LLM if the end up relying on it for this… It’s totally fucked.
It’s as if it was the 70s and one of your US senators was going to a psychologist who was secretly a USSR agent. It’s that level of fucked.
Oh god do you think they have plant based abortion burgers

politics @lemmy.world•Pelosi: Those who knew of Biden’s decline ‘should have acted’English
216·6 days agoSeems disengeniuous. He stepped down mid fucking campaign. That is acting.
You can say all you like that people should have done it earlier or said something, but ffs your candidate acts a bit old or weird one day, do you go to the presses and say he’s senile? Being under a lot of stress causes people to act funny. You don’t know if it’s too much until it’s too much.
There’s this reporter, Ross Coulthart, started going off about aliens and UFOs and telepathy and weird shit recently. He is an award winning investigative reporter who got turned into an alien reporter.
Well I noticed one day he starts talking about the GATE program (gifted and talented education) and testing children for psionic ability… Then i remember my parents trying to get me to try out for GATE and taking me to some weird building where they gave me weird psychic tests…
I failed them, but it proved to me that life is way stranger than we give it credit for. Yes, there are secret government programs looking for telepathic children. I’ve seen proof. That’s probably just the tip of iceberg if so.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Saw this at the store this morning, took a double takeEnglish
17·7 days agoBecause it’s clear they want kids to start drinking budweiser young. It’s marketing budweiser to minors, whether it has alcohol or not. And it’s marketing alcohol (“it’s BEER for under age”) to youth… Beer by default has alcohol. This is marketing beer to literal children.
What do you think all that marketing does? Gets them drinking more budweiser as adults, and probably interested in alcohol while underage. Shady as fuck.

News@lemmy.world•Trump signs executive order calling for spacing out childhood shotsEnglish
2·7 days agoThat’s how a lot of the government works though. It’s legal enough to change the way things work.
It’s one branch of government declaring a new way to enforce things from the very top. It always depends on people below actually following through.
Shit, even decriminalization is like that. A city can say, “we no longer want to prosecute people for marijuana” and they literally just tell cops to stop arresting people for it, whether it’s a federal crime or not. And the cops will stop arresting people for it… Usually… And if someone does get arrested for it, the district attorney will probably say “well we aren’t prosecuting for that so let him go”, and that’s that.
It’s similarly “legal”. Someone in power declares a way of doing things and people do it, to a certain extent.
There’s a supposed balance of powers that way. Legislators don’t get to decide 100% how things work. Other branches can make choices. Judges, mayors, governors, presidents.
And obviously, it can get abused, and nothing is stopping Trump from declaring that wearing green on Sunday is illegal, and if he did judges would probably just tell people to ignore that stupid shit.
Legal is a spectrum. It always depends on how it’s going to be enforced in practice, and how severe the penalties are, and how badly people want to do it.

I agree, but mostly because the bubble looks ready to pop. This is completely fucking unsustainable. They’re probably raising RAM prices to absurd levels just to squeeze the final but of wealth investors are willing to spend, before they give up and the house of cards comes crashing down.
OpenAI and Anthropic arent profitable, but they’re basically hyping the entire US economy right now. There’s no way to make this work long term. You cant pay back a trillion dollars by scraping data you generate non deterministically. That’s most of what LLM is until they make AGI as promised, which they won’t.
