Now I feel ick by having Klarna on my phone. They got on there by consuming another useful app I used to use and replacing it.
Stocard? I feel similarly. Is there a better option for iOS?
Right before Klarna took over I took a screenshot for each card and made an album in Photos to hold them. Red neck workarounds!
OK, that was the kick in the pants I needed. After a bit of searching I found https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/wallet-creator/id1486573384 — generates cards, integrates with Wallet, collects no data.
[edit] playing with it… it works, but is clunky and buggy. But still better than giving away your identity.
The original Stocard was awesome; then Apple Wallet came out and it got even better. Simple app that did one thing well. You could even geofence the cards so that the card for the store you were in would be the top one presented, and it was originally all on the device (not feeding location and usage data back to them).
And now that one thing (storing bar codes for easy retrieval) is stuck behind some lending app.
If someone made an app that could take images and present them in Apple Wallet that would be all I’d need.
Wait, Apple Card isn’t handling this? Hm, I guess they want to get into banking? Man, this place is f-d
