A big milestone has been hit by Valve for the Steam Deck, and SteamOS for other devices like the Steam Machine, with over 30,000 Verified + Playable games.
No kidding. Back when the Deck was new, I played a fair amount of Cyberpunk on it and it was fiiiiine. Not good, not very good looking, but enjoyable you know? Minus the bloody text, as I had to guess what things did because a tiny font at a minuscule resolution on a small screen in red? Not exactly readable.
Especially with games that are on console I cannot fathom how they don’t have the option of displaying huge texts. With the Steam Machine (or any computer) hooked up to a big TV the fonts are still often unreadable.
I mean, there is. Just with two levels instead of three. Playable and verified are the two highest and on top of that we have Unsupported for everything where we know that it doesn’t work and unknown which can be pretty much any of them but more often than not plays well.
Some games I have no clue how they managed their Deck verification. Monster Hunter Wilds recently got it, and there is just no way that game can run smoothly on that thing.
Runs pretty well. Lots of texture pop-in and the only place I have slowdowns is when the seasons are “plenty” and there is extra vegetation in the plains and jungle.
Not perfect but playable. I probably could get more out of it by lowering textures and additional character animations.
Man I wish that number actually meant anything

There needs to be a rating system.
Tried to run Expedition 33 on it and although performance seemed ok, it looked a right mess.
For me if the battery can’t hold the game for at least 3 hours, it’s unplayable.

That’s… surprising to hear, but I’m glad that it’s playable!
