I was just interested to see how much had changed since December when I was randomly banned with no reason given and the appeal went unheard.

I was just planning to browse and not log in but it immediately gave me a pop-up notification to create an account.

Curious if it would allow me, I submitted the application and it went through without problem.

I didn’t want to draw too much attention to myself, so I didn’t comment or post for the first month.

Then, I made another mistake. I got invested, again and it didn’t take long before it inevitably became political.

I posted a reply to someone who had clearly been chugging the orange kool-aid. Nothing terrible, just what I thought was objective reality, easily verifiable through past reporting through many credible media outlets.

But, reddit is going to reddit. Somehow objective reality has been classified as hate speech on reddit.

I’m not surprissd. Just a little disappointed.

I appealed, I do not expect a reply.

Previously, I had been on reddit for 10 years without much incident.

This time I lasted only 2 months

i don’t even understand what is happening in the screenshot. the comment you replied to seems to make the case that he is at fault, and used it as an example to someone defending someone else who incited something but didn’t actively participate. what’s the context here?

i think they either agree that he was culpable or they used the assumption that you would find him culpable as an argument that inciting violence does make one guilty to some degree.

the problem is there isn’t really any evidence that the left called for his head (especially a head that big; even the shooter knew he couldn’t penetrate that dome with mere bullets), and certainly not anyone of significance… while the jan6 was incited by the most powerful person in the world.

I got perma banned without a single word. Hadn’t done anything other than maybe miss a few rules on a sub, but nothing which warrented a ban. Maybe a headsup that I forgot a rule. The level of dictatorship they run over there is pretty wild. Fairly certain it’s just A.I/bots running wild, flagging for all the wrong reasons. The worst part is that they don’t even read or answer the appeals. I literally sent 10 over the course of a year, because I had so much information stored for my health journey. Did they care? Nope.

For every legit user banned for even casual talk of violence against Christian fascists, they replace them with a dozen fucking bots.

or, reddit is only going after the lowest hanging fruit, and leaving propaganda bots mostly untouched. they only do something when public complaints makes a stink about these bots. i noticed this trend, propaganda bots are rampant, but there more or less very little way to remove them. the massive purges, filters have been going after real users, OF accounts, or link sharing types. by the way it only sets back the latter 2 anyways temporarily, while IRL who arent using ban evasion methods are permanently banned.

which sub was this? was r/conservative, you get banned very easily, plus any bans you recieve automatically flags your account by the site, and some mods have connections with admins.

And AI-generated user profiling. Like say if you hate fascists in general, admire a certain Luigi and even talk about committing violence against fascists, the mods/admins will pull up that profile and use it to slap a ban.

They like hobbyists. They don’t want hobbyists talking about progressive politics and propaganda of the deed.

dont even need to say anything, looking at it wrong will get you shadowbanned: posting too fast, too much, or too similar to another comment, or positng too soon after account creation will get you banned. or somehow your browser or ip changes to suddenly too.

Reddit doesn’t want users. They don’t ban you for breaking the rules; they ban you once they determine you’re not a bot.

They made a system that’s supposed to have ai flag stuff and people review it, then the humans used it as an excuse to be lazy and click through all of them.

i feel like its AI all the way top down. AI flag stuff, ai review it by looking for keywords, and AI issuing the ban, and the rejection of appeals in most cases. ive only seen it rarely when the admins UNBAN someone, on the shadowban sub. its very rare to get unbanned these days. usually shadowban were reserved the worst offendors, like repeat trolls, etc.
