      I think it must, honestly. It seems very plausible to be raised in a more conservative area where even if people aren’t haters it still never occurs to anyone that you have options. Then you get old enough to go off to some big, fancy city for an education and start learning about all these polycules and such, and suddenly you’re like like “Well, if that person’s a freak and really happy and everyone loves them, can’t I do that too?”

      The girl on the left transitioned 9 hours after moving into the city. The girl on the right is saying this is a regular occurrence.

      (Might be unrelated but the 2 people look like they’re from the new pokemon game, I haven’t played it so I might be wrong)

        They are indeed from the new Pokemon game, the girl on the right is Taunie, the main rival if you pick the “male” player character, who is the girl on the left. The game doesn’t lock fashion options to player gender choice for the first time in Pokemon (technically neither did Scarlet/Violet but all that game had was school uniforms and accessories) letting you choose to dress fully fem regardless of which protagonist you pick, which is why these characters were picked for this comic!
