On Arch Linux pacman -S gimp will do, run and close, and then overwrite as instructed above. No need for Flatpak.

To those who sometimes feel bad by comparing themselves to “more accomplished” peers, the one-page CV on her website is clickable, it’s actually six pages. Then realize your peers or you will never match Sabrina Gonzales, so be kind to yourself. You do matter too, firefly: https://ncase.me/fireflies/.
She’s a one-in-a-century human such as Leonhard Euler: brilliant scientifically, ethically, and most importantly, still kind.

Suspect hypothesis, not conspiracy theory. Especially in the USA it’s not far fetched at all.

“In June 2021, Reiner said that he was working on a 10- to 13-episode TV project covering the relationship between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The project, he said, would cover the leaders’ childhoods up until the point where their lives cross.” ―https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Reiner#Political_views
Hmm 🧐.
“‘F the Police’ but who’s stopping you from killing me?” ―Harder Than You Think - Public Enemy
I do believe about 20% of police officers have good intentions and significantly more signed up with that attitude, not knowing that they protect the wealthy elite and crooked politicians more than they uphold democratic values and ethical standards in society.
Unfortunately, probably more of them consider such a career because of the authority it gives them. Therefore I prefer to say that “many cops are bastards”; granted, it doesn’t have an equally nice ring to it.

Honestly that’s the best I got.
I’ll take whatever of that sparse good stuff that’s given us.

Well, we don’t do witch hunts anymore.
[Accidentally checks world news.]
Oh goddammit.
Technologically we’ve witnessed wonderful advances. Appendicitis? Appendectomy. Rotten tonsils? Yeet them yonder. However, psychologically and ethically, when reading back to societies from 2000 years ago, we haven’t improved a bit as a species.
“Advertisement: a public notice
especially : a paid notice that is published or broadcast (as to attract customers or to provide information of public interest)” ―https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/advertisement
Do you think Clay Butler pays to have his cartoons published?
“What a way to kill the fun.”
But, where does killing the fun start exactly? Isn’t it you who first expressed the contrarian opinion? Surely you must expect people to refute your claims, or at the very least some pushback.
Why do you consider this an advert? Because it mentions Sidewalk Bubblegum, which is “Clay Butler’s self-syndicated weekly political cartoon”? I hardly think that by drawing cartoons such as God Bless America, Or Else! he belongs to the racket of greedy profiteers who manipulate people into buying stuff they don’t need.

“And do not, under any circumstances, take a job that involves night shifts. This shit should be illegal.”
While true for most professions this obviously doesn’t apply to firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), emergency dispatchers, air traffic controllers, nurses, trauma surgeons, police, weather forecasters, et cetera. Basically all professions where human lives are at stake require night shifts. The crucial part is that people who want to do night shifts should only need to do night shifts as to have a healthy sleeping pattern. Anything preventing people from having a decent sleeping cycle against their will should be illegal.

Give each and every one of them housing and health care. 🖤🐜

“The average person has one Fallopian tube.” ―Bo Burnham
It’s always there, but that doesn’t mean one constantly hears it. I’m listening to music a lot, so then I don’t hear it. When I skateboard or do any other sports I don’t hear it, et cetera. Only when it’s quiet I sometimes become aware of it, but because of habituation I usually unconsciously ignore it just as quickly. It does happen that sometimes in bed I keep focusing on it to the point it annoys me, but fortunately that’s rare. Not being able to experience absolute silence in a forest anymore disappoints me though; c’est la vie.
That being said, I’m probably in the camp of people whose condition is mild. It must indeed be horrible for people whose tinnitus overpowers all other sounds.

In the grand scheme of things, from an ethical point of view, they’re worth nothing as they don’t contribute anything of true value to societal change. In other words, pure entertainment, bread and circuses.

“Soccer is a gentlemen sport played by hooligans. Rugby is a hooligan sport played by gentlemen.”
While I’d enjoy playing soccer myself, the competitive scene is completely bereft of soul; a front for gambling and advertising. It’s despicable and unethical that professional soccer players earn as much as they do.
About 10 years ago a friend discovered Linux during his studies and suggested I try it out.
I haven’t looked back ever since.
