- virtualbox-ext-vnc >= 7.2.12-2 requires manual intervention (package won’t install)
- Active AUR malicious packages incident (the AUR is locked)
- Arch Linux 2026 Leader Election Results
- Breaking changes for all users of
varnish, which is renamed tovinyl-cache(it’s a proxy, only affects servers) - kea >= 1:3.0.3-6 update requires manual intervention (dhcp server, affects routers)
- iptables now defaults to the nft backend (affects pretty much nothing)
Repost.
Also, my Mint install broke, uh, shit I don’t remember, 5 times? Arch broke zero times. Zero times not my own fault for forgetting I was installing something and shutting off the computer, of course. Except for the times I tried the fucking installer python script, but since I never even booted the install it doesn’t count.
Welp, too late. I grabbed some random userscript and made it change everything to say “spez”. Pages and pages of me commenting “spez” to stuff. Checked back later, and everything is gone. Reduced to atoms. Now I have a ~57k karma empty account.

2·3 days agoYeah, he did his thing once and he is remembered for that but nobody really cares about most of his opinions anymore.
If we were to believe this piece of the OpenBSD lyrics explanation page isn’t satire:
In 1998 when a United Airlines plane was waiting in the queue at Washington Dulles International Airport for take-off to New Orleans (where a Usenix conference was taking place), one man stood up from his seat, demanded that they stop waiting in the queue and be permitted to deplane. Even after orders from the crew and a pilot from the cockpit he refused to sit down. The plane exited the queue and returned to the airport gangway. Security personnel ran onto the plane and removed this man, Richard Stallman, from the plane. After Richard was removed from the plane, everyone else stayed onboard and continued their journey to New Orleans. A few OpenBSD developers were on that same plane, seated very close by, so we have an accurate story of the events.
No, that’s because Android. It’s also overlaying all filesystems to enforce stupid rules, like no files named “CON” and no files named the same in a different case (like in DOS).
Wait until you see the Plan 9 API

SHOCKING!!!111 Worst person you know made a good point
The modern web fucking sucks. Imagine there’s no gigabit in the country where most sites are [made|tested|dictated]. Lots of things can be made to make sites suck harder even then, it can’t keep going forever this way. It will hit some sort of wall eventually.
(offtopic but I love how “politics at lemmy dot world” isn’t world politics)
/srs remove underglow, use plain colored blanket
Though I can’t tell that to OP since I am looking at a repost of a screenshot of likely a repost of a shitpost

18·6 days agoYou don’t even know what the social credit system is/was
Yes, I am aware it’s not actually a single number, just multiple numbers and blacklists for specific things, so what? No humor now?
you went for the “Chinese people bad”
You still haven’t clarified how the two are linked.

28·6 days agoJust state things clearly. The round trip time in this conversation is too fucking big.
You don’t understand how yet another piece of propaganda made by the most prolific invader in the world against its designated enemies is racist?
Yup, enlighten me. Are you trying to suggest all social credit memes are propaganda? And “racist”, even though they mention a governmental system and not a race?

18·7 days agoYou mean the minus social credit? How is it racist? Never does it say I side with a prolific invader, or that I condone the credit score system.

Why are they called after the brand of a kitchen blender, anyway? I call it a “plus head”
