Of all the shit craptendo does, this is actually pretty understandable.
Don’t piss on the lawn durong daytimeYou should only piss on the lawn when it’s raining, helps dilute the nitrogen so you don’t get those pee burns that turn the grass brown.
damn this goes deep - learning about pissing etiquette and ethical piracy at the same time 😂
very true though. i wish there was a more widespread code of honor. but most of us lack the insight.
whenever Nintendo is trying to take your money for a 100kb cloud save, steal. every entertainment industry has to also compete against piracy, and the successful ones win (steam, free and sometimes really massively generous cloud saves)
whenever they just try to release a game at a specific point in time, let them. that’s a really fair ask. don’t steal, and don’t publicize it…
there’s a reason most private trackers dont allow pre-releases. it attracts a lot of negative attention
Private trackers are also just snobby little elite clubs, so not surprised
Nintendo picks and chooses who they sue using their copyrighted images. It’s bullshit.
A tech YouTuber got a strike for using a intro screen to a Nintendo game. He did this before. The difference was he was talking about the Mig Switch.
Makes me wonder if they will ever go nuts and just copyright strike every Youtuber that helped them advertise their games for free for decades.
They pretty much tried that for a while, with their whole ‘Nintendo YouTube Creators Program’ bullshit.
There’s a massive difference between suing and striking. Suing someone means you’re intending to take them to court. A copyright strike is different. I forget if copyright strike implies DMCA or content ID. DMCA possibly involves lawyers (honestly can’t remember) but it removes the content from the site and that’s it (you only go to court if you disagree and they push back). Content ID is an automated process that either removes sounds, portions of videos, or takes a portion of ad revenue.
Lol at least it wasn’t like that time they tried to sue people in Australia for that reason, because Nintendo forgot about time zones…
It’s also Hilario that they’d sue somebody for free advertising of their game. Must be a shit title if they don’t want people to see it…
Never give Nintendo money.
Even if specifically so it doesn’t make it to their legal department.
Tell that to the blind people who still consume their games and still say with a nostalgic smile “I love Nintendo and I will continue to support them forever because it was part of my childhood!!!” Seriously, Nintendo can be mean everytime, it will still have people who non-ironically defend it.
Downvotes on the comment suggest I already have.
I really adore the game-developing parts of Nintendo. I even admire their history of promoting creative randos. But their legal department is a threat to entire concepts on the internet and in general computing, so the whole company can go fuck a rake.
