Why people post youtube links expecting people to CLICK them on lemmy
I click them and appreciate them. I guess… *shock horror* people are different.
2 upvotes, 14 downvotes Take the hint, put some effort in.
If your actions are dictated by majority numbers, why are you here instead of on Reddit?
Burn! I get where you are coming from but you could have the best of both worlds and have people click through either way and also the ones that require a short abstract. Its not a lot of extra work and the internet is tired of YouTube click bait thumbs and does not want to waste time more than necessary.
So, yeah you are absolutely right by saying take it or leave it but as I said it would make your post reach so much more people by going that extra step. And I think you want the video to be watched since you posted it here.
Chucking a comment on your post with a one-sentence summary of what the video is about would go a long way towards stopping these kinds of grumbles.
All I’ve got to go on at the moment is the usual YouTube clickbait thumbnail with obligatory reaction face and let’s face it, that’s not much incentive to click through.
So don’t click through. You know how many posts I scroll past a day? The internet wasn’t made for me. Hell, what i click on one day doesn’t reflect on what I’ll click on the next. If something grabs me it grabs me, if not I scroll on by.
Good for you, you’re really rocking this whole internets thing! 👍
Meanwhile, if you’re not willing or interested enough to put in ONE (1) sentence in your post describing it, then I consider your contribution to Lemmy to be marginal at best.
YouTube: 🤬
Peertube: 😍
What happened to the infamous stiff upper lip in UK?
Apart from the moronic title the video seems very relevant to people living in UK.No one is panicking, it’s click bait bullshit.
True. Which is why I described the title as moronic.
I skipped around a bit and am irritated. Not from the UK , so forgive my lack of knowledge here.
Say you own an ice vehicle are you just paying road tax and that’s it? Isn’t that like a incentive to keep using ICe over ev?
General info: video talks about tax law that’s coming up in UK regarding driven miles with evs.
ICE would pay tax on fuel based on mileage, as well as the vehicle tax which is a set rate per year based on the vehicle regardless of how much you use it.
EVs only pay the vehicle tax and then nothing based on usage.
I don’t want to watch a YouTube video. Feel like videos at least should have a summary writeup.
Feels clickbaity too.
It’s really clickbaity. I came to the comments section looking for the reason drivers were “PANICKING” but couldn’t find it. It’s probably some trivial thing. I’m not gonna watch the video.
Bro or sis, I’m not being funny, you’re a 20 day old account with zero contribution in terms of posts to the whole fediverse. If you don’t want to watch a video, that’s fine. Distinguish between a you problem and a community problem. You’re free to search for the subject or simply get on with your life.
Oh sure, let me just search for the information outside of YouTube with a blatant clickbait title that says NOTHING about what the video is talking about.
I’ll try that one the next time I am asked about accessibility features.
Sure, I am just at work and unable to watch a video. Others are physically unable to. Data usage may also be an issue for some. A suggestion to add a writeup is constructive criticism.
