I’ve had my G602 so long I have literally no memory of buying it. Definitely since before the 2017 discontinuing so it lasted 10 years atleast. A true hero, absolutely got my money’s worth from it.
I felt a bit sad just throwing it away after so much time so I thought I’d make a post about it. Maybe someone wants it for parts, but otherwise atleast I got to share my little sadness for a good quality product that’s served me very well.
It stopped staying turned on. Once batteries went in, it would turn on for a few seconds then stop working. Tried what fixes I could find online to no avail.
You can barely customize the buttons on these anymore so it was probably time.
A shame to learn there’s really no modern counterpart. Ended up replacing it with a razer basilisk V3 because it was the most similar in shape I could find.

Are you in the US? I bought this exact mouse years ago but I quit using it after one day because I didn’t like it’s shape. It’s just been in the drawer since then. If you want it, DM me and I’ll send it to you for free.

I had to buy a new G600 a year ago for 100 dollars after I learned they were discontinued. I really wish there was a viable replacement out there, I’ve had like 4 over the last 15 years and have gotten so used to the ring finger button that I can’t imagine playing games without it.
I got a cheap ergonomic mouse, no regrets. Sadly the Logitech build quality has gone way downhill.
My 602 is my work mouse too. Several years ago I figured I would buy a backup, but it was already discontinued. So I looked into what seems to be Logitech’s intended replacement for it, the G604.
I went to a BestBuy to get a hand on it IRL and it sucked. Everything about it felt cheap. The materials, the button response, everything. RIP.
I’ve had to 3D print a new batter cover for my 602, but other than that it is still holding on for now.
G602 is the best mouse I ever had and I don’t really care about expensive tech that much.

I had bad luck with my Logitech mouse (G502 I think). Both buttons started malfunctioning after only a year. I still haven’t gotten to getting a new one.
502 has a mixed reputation. I bought one that’s held up for 10+ years with zero issues but the backup I bought (for travel and hell it was on sale) basically had double click issues out of the box. I still love the shit out of it.
Still using mine but the left click is starting to fail permanently.
It had a phase a couple of years ago where it liked to double click but that went away again after a while.Now its starting to seriously double and triple click and sometimes not click at all.
Might have to start investing some time looking for a replacement. o7
I don’t have a Logitech Mouse, but I fixed the double-click problem for me by spraying 70% isopropanol alcohol under the mouse button
My G604 had a similar probelm. I even disassembled it and soldered in new microswitches, and it’s already double-clicking again less than 6 months later
It’s usually just a simple switch to solder on…learn to solder. Mice switches are easy. Let the g602 live forever
My performance MX micro switch fails every 1- 2 years. I bought a cheap pack of 10 microswitches and open them up to use the springs as donors. Swap the worn spring for the new one and it’s back in business, no need to even solder
I’ve kept my little logitech mouse around for a while too. I first got it in 2007, and I’ve been through 3 PCs, gone from Windows XP to 7 to 10 to LMDE to Fedora, and she’s still going strong today
By the look of it, it dates from the 1950s, maybe early 1960s I’d say.
This form factor is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. I use a newer generation, but despite Logitech not being the company it once was, I can’t see myself ever using a different kind.
I recently purchased a battery off of Alibaba to keep my G602 going for another decade. Truly, there’s nothing else like it. Yours looks like it took a bullet for you…? Such a brave little mouser.
What the hell did you do, throw it into traffic?
My 602 started going out on me a couple of weeks ago. I had repaired it a couple of times already, so I figured it was time to just replace it. After pouring over available mice, there was just nothing that really compared to me. I found one on ebay for about 15 bucks sold as is, ne details, but it was in visibly better condition than mine so I rolled the dice. Tried it out when it came in and it worka perfectly, only missing some of the skates, which I had some on hand for my other one. Lucked out for sure but I’m just happy to have my 602 back!
