A US judge ruled Google acted illegally to maintain a monopoly in some ad tech. This is the second time a judge ruled Google willfully engaged in monopolistic practices. The remedies for these rulings are still being worked out but may strengthen the case to have Google’s business broken up.
Everyone in their right mind already figured this out eons ago ffs. The point is, what the fuck are you going to do about it. Same headline probably gonna come out next year. Rinse and repeat.
i understand your snark, but please, try to effect some sort of change!!!
How would you, as a single person, enact some change towards a company being legally found as a monopoly?
“Don’t use thier service” is obvious, and not a good answer.
are we talking? here’s part of it…
Unrelated tongue conversation, but related to your username lol
I don’t think you understand snark whatsoever, or you’d know better than to post nonsense like this.
Great. We found out that Google is evil. Again. Could we now please get rid of them or at least stop using their products?
I’ve switched to Qwant for my web searches and I’m happy.
I’ve also switched to Proton but now I need a new alternative because the CEO supports Trump.
Posteo is cool as an alternative to Proton for mail, they are bunch of nice Germans going to the office on bike, you can’t go evil on that.
I like them but (if I’m not wrong) they don’t support custom domains.
Yes seems that it is true, Tuta then I think they support custom domains.
Do you know that gif of a truck that is about to hit a post but never does? That’s how all this feels.
That’s an amazing analogy haha
Time to cut it up into 4-6 different companies that will all collude together anyway.
Now to actually punish them, oh wait that probably won’t happen?
It will be a slap on the wrist with a “please do not make it so obvious again”.
Sadly
Or a fine that is about 1 week of the profits they get from continuing whatever they were fined for
A week? You’re crazy.
It’ll be a day or two of profit, max.$100,000 tops.
I am the shock
When do people realize that this is really concerning. If they don’t follow the law with their adds, why should they follow it with our data?
If they don’t follow the law with their adds, why should they follow it with our data?
Oh we’re well past that point.
No way
…justice is slow but fine, justice never arrives on time…
i am so anrgry
😱
Is this what the proton dude meant?
