    I’ve actually seen some pushback on this in conservative comments – but also a huge number saying things like “he’s trolling”.

    The hypocrisy and double standards are absolutely maddening.

      They’ve already drafted a loophole to exclude Obama. Theres a MAGAt senator who wrote a draft that was like “can serve a third term only if first term wasn’t consecutive”

        Remember when Putin needed to bounce between President and Prime Minister (or whatever they were called) to stay in power before just taking the mask off?

        I wonder what they’ll call the temporary office in the USA. In 2032 after getting his newly-reinterpreted “term of two together terms”. Can’t be VP so maybe Chief America Officer? Yeah. That’s it.

      Stupid fantasy, but hear me out: Trump’s bullshit successfully kills the two term limit: Obama jumps on the opportunity to run again, and the two compete for a 3rd term. We then get to enjoy watching Trump lose to a black man.
