Microsoft’s AI CEO, Mustafa Suleyman, has shared his opinion after recent pushback from users online that are becoming frustrated with Copilot and AI on Windows. In a post on X, Suleyman says he’s mind blown by the fact that people are unimpressed with the ability to talk fluently with an AI computer.
His post comes after Windows president Pavan Davuluri was recently met with major backlash from users online for posting about Windows evolving into an agentic OS. His post was so negatively received that he was forced to turn off replies, though Davuluri did later respond to reassure customers that the company was aware of the feedback.

Reading text from images uses neural networks these days for OCR (optical character recognition). It works so well these days that you don’t even notice your phone doing it.
You do realize that you just said highlighting and most people aren’t reading this on a Samsung thus don’t know what you are talking about.
I think you’re the one who rated me down to zero. Normally I wouldn’t care, but I’m bringing it up for a reason. If you did rate me down, it would only be because I stated that Al has benefits, which it objectively does. That would mean you did it solely because my statement conflicts with your ideology, which is the same behavior you see from conspiracy theorists and radicalized right-wing groups.
I’m correct that Al has beneficial applications. That is not up for debate.
Are you so locked into your own rhetoric that you can’t even acknowledge that?
I didn’t downvote you. You got downvoted because you seemed to be saying that somehow highlighting text is an example of AI. You now seem to be saying that samsung has a feature whereby you can copy text out of a picture. This is probably still wrong because OCR isn’t neccesarily AI but none the less I didn’t vote either way.
Ok very good. I’ll accept that you didn’t downvote me.
Modern OCR is exclusively AI driven which is why it’s so incredibly good right now. Moreover the OCR on modern cell phones such as the Samsung Galaxy s24 and pixel variance do much more than simple text recognition, they’re able to scan bar codes and translate text on screen.
It’s extremely useful for what I do. I think you should give AI a try instead of falling onto the anti ai band wagon.
iPhones do it, Pixels do it, Samsungs do it…
You do understand that there is a difference between highlighting test from a text box is different from highlighting text from a jpg right? If not you’re just probing my point that the AI is so seamless and accurate that you didn’t realize it was even there.
OCR isn’t normally considered AI and ive never used or wanted to use such a feature. I’ve literally never received an image with non trivial txt on it that I needed to copy on my phone.
You failed to explain what you were talking about
That depends on how you accomplish the OCR. What is your preferred method?
