    Mississippiensis is fairly understandable in not just Latin but romance languages in general as “from Mississippi”. I have terrible news for about 3 million people.

    Especially for the 60% of them Wikipedia tells me voted for Trump.

      Yeah. In Spanish, we’d say “Misisipiense” (just like we call Americans “estadounidenses”), though WP says it’s an obsolete word

    I believe there is a joke in The Office about Todd Packer being able to name all the extant species, because there are only two.
