Halo Infinite was noticeably missing from the recent Xbox showcase, so Xbox head Phil Spencer clarified why that was.
Halo is pretty much dead. They have an update coming out this week, but after that I wouldn’t be surprised if Infinite never gets updated again. And I’m also predicting that project Tatanka is going to get canceled. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s where my expectations are right now.
I don’t give two fucks about Halo but yeah, that’s a weird-ass reason.
I can’t believe how badly they dropped the ball on Halo. Gameplay is great but wheres the content?
I might be in the minority, but I really liked Halo: Infinite. The controls felt so good. The problem to me was that nothing was keeping me in Halo. I’m mostly a single player gamer and there were other fun games to check out. But if any of my friends said “wanna play some Halo?” I would definitely play
I think you’ve summarized the biggest problem with Halo currently. Even if you enjoy the game, its one if those games you play for a while, maybe beat the campaign and then move into other games.
It just doesn’t feel like a flagship title anymore. And if it wasn’t for the Halo name it would be even more forgettable then it is now.
Doesn’t help that it’s still missing features that it should’ve had at launch and was mismanaged for an entire decade. 343 now has the “updated MCC” lead running it and I genuinely expect that any future titles in the game will be much better. They finally nailed the gameplay and art with Infinite, but that thing has so much technical debt, had so many anti-player mechanics in place, and didn’t have so many expected features that none of it could save it.
I gave it a shot the other day and it was super fun, but if I had a dollar for every time I said “what the fuck this is still an issue?” I’d probably have enough to buy the battlepass.
