    and binge nutrek shit.

I hate how all of the new Trek shows seem so intent on subverting/dismantling the hopeful and utopian world of Star Trek.

Like, at least to me, the whole point of Star Trek is that while we have no shortage of pessimistic dystopian Sci-Fi, there’s painfully few major properties that paint a hopeful picture for the future. Star Trek was always an aspirational look at humanity to me; the new shows seem so focused on being tense and dramatic that they forget they’re supposed to have that aspirational quality.

Very valid. All the more reason to need something to aspire to, imo.

Mostly just Discovery and Picard is kind of halfway there.

SNW is a really fun watch once they’ve dealt with Pike’s future (which they kind of really have to). Personally I like that they go for different genres, but I can see why some people might not like that if.

Lower Decks is a riot and a half and I think it’s my favourite Star Trek, but it might be kind of cheating because it stands on the shoulders of all the other shows.

Prodigy is quite a bit different from the other shows, but it’s full of optimism, hope, and friendship. It doesn’t start out that way, they’re all very suspicious of each other at first. They grow into it as they learn more about themselves and each other, and aspire to be part of the Federation and Starfleet.

Discovery s1/2 so far are a mess. Picard few episodes I’ve seen were… out of character to say the least…

However Lower Decks was fun. Kinda how The Clone Wars or Futurama were fun.
