When you get big enough, you are under more scrutiny and these laws are spreading more and more. I can imagine the Mastodon team is under lots of external pressure to start following these new laws. Mastodon won’t be the last to start thinking about implementation.
I hope it’s face verification so I can just point the camera at a guy on Google images or whatever to get it to let me in.
I can do without both.

I haven’t had my shit up for very long, and HOLY SHIT the unique visitors numbers are nuts.
I think this is because of federation, but mainly the images being loaded across other instances.I looked at deflect and it ain’t gonna be cheap, the number will only go up, and I am the sole user of the site. Storing the shit in a media bucket or whatever would fix it, but I’d have to pay for that shit too.

I believe so, I took the screenshot a while ago so my memory is hazy.
So, Tiktok keeps tabs on what is searched after viewing a video, and many users had no idea what the constitution was so they searched it up with Tiktok enough for it to show a hyperlink when opening the comments.
Redundancy.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What are some Fediverse server hosting tips?English
3·4 days agoI’m gonna try and hold out and see what happens. Piefed did not last long, it did federate with quite a few servers, but I was mainly browsing content on my one account.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What are some Fediverse server hosting tips?English
2·4 days agoYes, Cantaloupe877 was made on both instances, using the same domain. After moving to Lemmy, several weird things started happening like me not being able to join communities, profile pictures not loading, and my posts not showing up on lemmy. I thought I configured the server wrong so I screwed about with it to no avail, but I discovered with further testing that other servers worked fine, I could join their communities and post fine, and I realized my mistake.
The only thing that remains broken that I am aware of is my profile picture. When that’ll fix itself or if ever, no idea, but it’s working pretty well now aside from that.

Nah
I must state I lack any experience with parenting, but I have this to add:
Both Android and iOS have parental controls built in, just block whatever you don’t want your kid to access. There are tools out there that parents can install on devices that are basically spyware for their kids. Parents have to actually use the existing tools, at least what is built in with the OS of the device. Make the iPad not an addictive content serving machine, but instead something with hand picked games, or whatever other apps you trust. Even non tech savvy users could enable parental features.
