What about Redout?
What about Redout?
There are different levels of scummy that are considered socially acceptable, and some marketing doesn’t rely on tricking you.
Think of the different ads you’ve seen:
“Our furniture is locally made by unionized workers. Everything is made using young trees that we grow ourselves, or reclaimed wood”
Is different than:
“On Friday, our pasta is buy one get one free”
Is very different than:
“Hey gay, it’s June. You know what that means? It’s time for us to change our logo to include a rainbow and maybe even have an ad (in some countries) with two woman who might be married if you read between the lines. Maybe you can ignore that we donate money to political groups that are anti-LGBT, or that we fire queer people at a higher rate than straight people.”
Or
“Hey kids, I’m a clown! Your parents don’t love you if they don’t buy Clown brand bleach. Kids without Clown brand bleach are poor, unlovable losers, and they’ll never have any friends. Now in comes in cherry, and blue raspberry!”
People generally look down on pretending to be a minority for financial gain.
Queerbaiting: Pretending or hinting that you may be LGBT+, in order to trick people into liking you more, or to pay more attention to you or your work. Sometimes this is a way to try to get LGBT+ fans, sometimes it’s trying to get straight people who think LGBT+ people/acts are sexy.
Arc, as in story arc of a tv show or book series: So, it’s for a set period of time, and then they move on, not really acknowledging again.
Pop acts have done this a lot.
Infowars was/is a media company, Alex Jones’ show was on TV and online.
They are known for peddling and creating far right conspiracy theories, and because of this were often banned from social media websites for breaking their Terms of Service.
Because Elon is a right-wing conspiracy theorist who likes Alex Jones, he unbanned infowars from Twitter when he(Elon) bought it.
Inforwars was recently sued into the ground because of the claims he made to his audience about the victims of school shootings and their families. Because of this, he was ordered to have his assets liquidated.
The Onion (a satirical news/comedy website) won the bid for Inforwars and its assets, and Elon isn’t a fan of this, so he’s trying to not allow The Onion access to the Inforwars Twitter account.
You can likely just block the magazine for yourself, or you can contact https://kbin.melroy.org/u/melroy about it.
The butterfly, or an overweight jungle cat?
People can have more than one account, so there might be overlap between these two instances.
Also, having an account on one of these two doesn’t make you a vegan, just like having an account on any other instance doesn’t mean you’re not a vegan.
I don’t smoke weed, but you may want to break things down to be more specific. Because currently, the answer is “they die” or “They DUI someone else, they go to jail, then they can’t get a job when they out, so they become homeless. While homeless they start doing survival sex-work, and they are forced into dangerous and unwanted kinks. They then die, of starvation in the gutter, full of debilitating STIs”
Are you smoking a derivative, like shatter?
Are you smoking the actual plant? wrapped in paper? from glass?
Are you vaping something glycol-based?
Are you using a dry-plant vaporizer?
Are you buying your weed from a legal, controlled source?
Are you getting something that’s laced?
You should be showing your source.
I went with the Razr (2023), and it’s great. It was cheap, it gets small, and the screen is on the inside, meaning I don’t need to worry about things scratching it, and the battery lasts a long time.
If there is another similar phone when I go to replace mine, I will grab it.
If all the market offers me is an expensive phone with a giant outer screen, I won’t.
The three “normal” suggestions are:
C*ash Slap is on the poster, which is probably supposed to be a reference to Crash Bash.
If you don’t remember Crash Bash, that makes sense, it wasn’t great.
The US election is an election of elections.
They break the election into smaller elections, based on where people live. It doesn’t matter if someone gets 99% of the votes in that area, or 50.0000001% of the votes. Winning is winning.
So if someone wins 49% of the smaller elections, but wins them with a high enough amount, they can have more total votes and still lose the whole thing.
Edit: Let’s say there are only 3 areas of 10 people each.
Area 1: Goes to Person A
Person A: 9
Person B: 1
Area 2: Goes to Person B
Person A: 4
Person B: 6
Area 3: Goes to Person B
Person A: 4
Person B: 6
So person B wins 2 of the 3 mini elections, which makes them win the whole thing.
Person B had 13 votes, Person A had 17 votes.
Person A would win if it was “popular vote”
They edited the formatting of their comment, so they do look the same now.
I just use the normal Lemmy web experience on desktop Firefox.
If the width of the window is made quite narrow, like on a phone, they will look the same. At full size, or in landscape, they won’t.
The formatting is a little off. At the end of a line, before you hit enter, leave 2 spaces.

I think it’s because they are emulating chaos-based reality tv shows.
These garbage reality shows had people using speaker-phones in public so they can record both sides of the conversation as easily as possible.
Strange Flesh, but in a more literal sense, to a subby bottom bear.
