Syncthing is like a base layer for a personal P2P system, beyond the basic file sync I use Syncthing to sync Joplin Notes, Money Manager Ex, KeePass, RetroShare and what ever else I can.

I’ve used it to encrypt both Pi4’s and 5’s. I think it’s most compatible with Raspberry Pi OS (Bookworm), used it on both Lite and Desktop editions. Remember to use non-AES encryption since only the 5 has hardware enc/decryption. Good luck!

Depends mainly how many videos you plan on hosting, storage space is the biggest issue.

I’ve self-hosted a 5€ Peertube instance before, no problems. Expanding the storage would be rather cheap but I never hit the 500GB VPS limit before I got bored of the whole thing and shut it down.

It takes too much energy to have a good poker face, I’d rather just stay grumpy.
