The Curtis Yarvin / Peter Thiel “Dark Enlightenment” was overtly anti-democracy and had some dollars behind it, but has been a clown show of an ideology from the start (over 15 years ago) and has only withered more in daylight.
Whether it’s morally right, there’s a wide canyon between proposing an entire alternative political system, and deplatforming people on X or Starlink.
This “every third party vote is a vote for $republican_candidate” noise comes around every four years like clockwork. Third party votes are not just protest votes from wayward Democrats.
You have a right to a cat. If you do not have one, one will assign itself to you.
What’s hilarious about this is that obstructed barrels actually can explode into ribbons just like the cartoons. A finger might not do it though, and not sure how many volunteers you’d get for a scientific test.
2·2 months agoCorrect, just the communities. I still see .ml user posts and comments in other communities, which is tolerable. Plenty of them are fine. For the that aren’t, the heckler’s veto sometimes keeps the dumber narratives at bay.
I appreciate that instance labels carry some meaning of how a user is likely to act.
