  • As someone that grew up in the 90s watching NASCAR Dale was also hella legit. He hated the Confederate flag and was quoted as saying, “racism is a moral commitment to ignorance.” I miss when rednecks understood the fight and also hated cops. Now they suck and give the rest of us a bad name.

  • What an awful take. Of course some people incorrectly breed dogs in ways that cause serious health problems but most Dachshunds dont fall into that category of mutant dogs I had 2 growing up, one lived 13 years and the other lived 17 years no issues with their backs because we didn’t allow them to jump onto high things. Some dogs require special attention to help them live happy and healthily, so do most animals including people. It’s not like they are pugs who noses are now so flat they can’t breathe properly, these are just sausage dogs and they have always been long.

  • Dang. NASCAR got pretty big in the late 90’s early 00’s. My dad watched all the time and he controlled the living room so we were all watching races. I was 8 when I watched his crash. I remember thinking that it didn’t look that bad, I had seen cars flip and roll like crazy and drivers would just walk out. Really sad stuff, iirc the device he invented to save drivers in those types of impacts would have saved his life but he didn’t like wearing it because if limited his head movements so he couldn’t see as well. RIP Dale I still have your little model car, you were my favorite. #3 MVP

  • City, town, country, doesn’t matter because I can’t afford it!

On the real real, I work full time and make more than I ever have in my life. The apartments I live in are falling apart and the owners don’t care anymore, it used to be a nice place. My mom’s helping me look at new places because she wants me out as much as I do. There isn’t anything I can afford. My parents are going to have to help me with rent if I want to get into anything that isn’t another shithole. I’m 33, college educated, live in one of the cheapest states in the cheapest city, I work from home, I work for fuckin Apple for christ sake, I’ve done everything right and yet I still can’t afford to live.

  • Imo blurring genderlines and rendering them useless as a meaningful measure of power is precisely why so many in power now don’t want the gender/trans movement to gain any traction. If people were to realize that gender truly was nothing more than your outward appearance and did not in any way impact someone’s ability to gain power, knowledge, or success then we could end up with a WOMAN in powerful positions or even worse the women could actually start to gain allies with the power to change things when former white cishet male presenting people who still speak with their white cishet friends about all the I justices women face start to get outraged on their friends behalf.

  • I work at Apple in the Apple Care department, but not for the Apple Care yalls moms call for help. This has been happening for literally years and I’ve spoken about it before but no one really took it seriously but now here we are. We were told that we be in a hiring freeze for the foreseeable future and that hiring and promotions would only happen onsite. If we wanted to be promoted we needed to move to Austin or San Fran, the two most expensive cities in the country with no guarantee of a promotion, on our own dime, knowing we won’t make a living wage there. Keep in mind that this meeting was being given to a massive department who’s main workforce is and has always been WFH.

  • It’s also why they rant and rave a out policing the internet. It used to be that getting out of your small town and going to ANY type of higher learning like community college or a even some trade schools was enough to grow, learn, and meet diverse groups of people. Now you don’t ever have to leave your small town to learn, grow, and be presented the largest collective of diversity ever. It’s sitting in the palm of your hand.

  • As the person above mentioned, the employeement rate means absolutely nothing if those jobs don’t pay enough. It’s why employment is a useless metric, sure unemployment is low but how are people doing? Well, the amount of people living paycheck to paycheck and kids going hungry has skyrocketed. Shit, I’d bet half the reason jobs fill quickly is because many people are working more than one. If you need the equivalent of 3-4 working people to maintain a one bedroom apartment for two people then the economy is dog shit. People shouldn’t have to double their work just to get by but that’s what’s happening to damn near the entire generation of the most highly educated workforce of all time.
