1·2 months agoTypically an insurance doesn’t save you money. If it did the insurer would go bankrupt.
Unless you know you will claim much more than a typical insuree, because you break a lot of stuff.
Then why is it growing mold?

42·2 months agoYou should only take insurance on things you can’t afford to replace (like your house, your car). If you can’t replace your phone from savings, you shouldn’t buy a high-end phone.
Dutchman here. I love riding in fresh snow. Very serene, empty roads, and plenty of grip. It takes effort, and I’ll be wearing lots of layers, so I’m very warm.
Fuck old snow or black ice though. Like you say, snow is rare so I don’t have studded tires or chains and stuff. Usually the cycle tracks are well salted and plowed though. There’s even an app mhat can de bicycle route planning over plowed roads only.

My company started with mandatory cybersecurity trainings for all employees. The training tool sends out automated emails to remind you when you have to do a new part of the training.
These emails, from a cybersecurity course, followed all the rules of being a phishing email:
- Sent from a non-company server
- Had a big red button to click here
- Urged you to take action (“You have 5 days to complete your training”)
IT decided to fix that, by adding a line to the emails that this email is really from our company. Like a phisher wouldn’t think of saying “nah, trust me bro, I’m totally legit”

1·2 years agoThat sucks. It sounds like you have wet feet 24/7 now too, so you are fucked either way. The only advice I have for you is to switch socks often, and shoes as well (have at least 2 pairs, and alternate every day) so at least they can dry in the meantime

0·2 years agoDitch waterproof, get shoes that breath a lot. Waterproof shoes get wet on the inside anyway, through sweat if not anything else. Breathable shoes dry up again a lot faster, making it harder for bacteria to make smelly stuff.
Waterproof shoes like to claim they are breathing, like goretex and stuff. It doesn’t, not nearly as well as some mesh or holes do.
