  • I’ve always just enjoyed having drinks with Lenny regardless of the social media apps I used. He is a pretty good guy, doesn’t judge much which is great for conversations.

Funny enough, while having a few duffs with Lenny, we got to discussing reddits recent changes to 3rd party APIs and we both agreed it was going to be a bad discision long term. So Lenny started talking about Lemmy, and said I should check it out. I did once my reddit 3rd party app didn’t work. So it was actually Lenny that converted me to Lemmy. He’s a swell guy.

  • This hits really hard for someone that experienced multiple years of anosmia.

Somebody would say something smells bad, and it really bothered me that I couldn’t smell it.

Then when I started regaining a sense of smeel (post surgery) the smells I was able to pick up were always bad. The first time I could smell nice things like cooking, or perfume, I was elated.

Going from, I ate meat that was off because I couldn’t smell it was off or really taste it, to being able to smell cooking was amazing. I will never take the sense of smell for granted ever again.

  • Totally agree with this one.

I drive an old 06 and I much prefer using the the physical buttons to adjust things like music, volume, air settings. Even prefer using it to back up and having to use my mirrors and look back.

My '18 vehicle is all touch screen, cameras, etc. While the a/c functions better and I don’t feel like my fillings are going to fall out from all the rattles and bumps, I find there is a real disconnect. I am even asked by others why I lean over and look at the back window when reversing.

I work in tech and I don’t trust tech.
