5 months agoat this point in life I think I already saw all the bands I wanted in concert. I think I can afford to boycot these mfs and stick to local concerts that dont use that garbage company.

not really, not everybody has the same destination, but a lot of people need to go in the same direction at a given moment (thats why you are stuck in traffic in this situation).
1317·7 months agoIm not sure what you mean by socialist countries. But communists countries are more oppresive:
- They have leaders that stay in power for decades. Opposition is often punished.
- There is nor freedom of speech, speaking against the government gets you in jail or worse.
- In some of those countries, people are not allowed to leave the country.
And for the record, I agree that poverty is extremely oppressive as well and we need more socialist reforms in capitalist countries, tax harder the rich, break monopolies, foster more unions and so on, I just dont agree that communism is the magical land you all think it is and the solution to all the problems. Nobody seems to want immigrate to North Korea for a reason.

Im not sure that hypothesis fits. At the end she gets captured and delivered to the dude. In that scene everybody interacts with both characters. Also if I remember correctly, when they are both hugging in the support group, the therapist approach them, looks at them both “supporting” each other and nods. That scene wouldnt make sense if he was there alone just standing by himself.
My feelings? not that I remember. My faith in humanity though…

12·10 months agoWhat I find very disconcerting is that some companies don’t own real state, they rent it. A commercial space in NY size of a garage costs like 70K per month! So these companies had the golden opportunity to pocket this money, to make their employees happy, help the environment, improve the traffic in the city and get talent from anywhere in the country, but said “nah thanks, I prefer to spend my time micromanaging my employees”.
What is wrong with these people? Our generation needs to create better, smarter companies and make these dinosaurs irrelevant.

251·10 months agoyeah I remember that guy, I stopped watching his linux channel during the pandemic as soon as he called it “plandemic”. It looks like it just got worst from there.

Magic Earth is closed source but it claims it respects the users privacy, it uses open street maps and it has decent traffic data for navigation for some countries. It also has the advantage that you can configure it to stick to the original route if you prefer. This is very important for me because sometimes I want to take a scenic route, or just routes I prefer but that are not necessarily the fastest.
