I’m hosting mine on an old i5-750 (yeah, not 7500…), with an GeForce gt640 and 4GB of ram… Never encountered any problems whatsoever.
I would take a hot take and say, any old pc that you can find will do just fine.
I’m pretty sure it’s about Cities Skylines II.
I’ve bought it myself and I personally don’t care about the optimizations + developers warned about it a few times. Still a lot of people get mad and I’m not sure why.
I’ve checked and not only for me this setting does not seem to work on Wayland. It is briefly mentioned in the linked bug report.
What a nice and civilized way to say that title is misleading. Changing it rn. Thank you sir!
That’s why Lemmy >> Reddit
I do agree, and I’ve never said that. All I’m saying is that Plasma Wayland on laptops is for many people pain to use (and it looks like many agree with me here too).
I do believe that this should be resolved as Plasma 6 is shifting towards Wayland-first approach, and this would annoy most laptop users.
You don’t wanna e.g. download more RAM? Well your bad, thanks to this product I have 128 TB of memory on my Xiaomi laptop and it keeps getting bigger! Plus, I have a guaranteed upgrade to Windows, 12, 13 and 14 too!
10/10
Sorry, my bad. By “official” I meant “by the lemmy devs”, as stated on join-lemmy.org
Wdym? The community here is already much better than on Reddit. Same post there was met with little notice, and all of that was like “stop shilling, loser”.
I believe I’m quite settled here already, using Jerboa on my phone. One thing that could help get more people here in my opinion is promotion of the “lemmy” “brand”. Now when I try to lookup the lemmy keyword on my search engine, I have to scroll waay below the first results (which is not a behavior of most users). Why isn’t e.g. the “official” app called simply Lemmy, but instead “Jerboa”? I assure you this is confusing for many people.
Anyways, thank you for welcoming me! I see great potential in Lemmy (compared to e.g. Mastodon, which is dependent on specific people and not communities).
TLDR: Met with awesome community already, but the app is a little bit confusing.
Not finnish, but still appreciate it!
For me two things come to mind:
Well I’ve converted quite recently as I haven’t heard of Lemmy before.
I apologize for bothering you, sir.
Thx for the notice! This goes right into my teaching materials.
