Yeah, we’ve cured a ton of previously chronic diseases. I don’t know what planet these people live on. We’ve even effectively cured certain cancers in our lifetimes, and more will come. It’s also just much harder to cure something than treat something.

I remember she tried to overhaul their drug cost model to be less opaque and supposedly cheaper for consumers. Doesn’t seem like it ended up happening from my point of view. CVS is my PBM and keeps raising the cost for generics to the point where it’s cheaper to buy them without using insurance from an online pharmacy.
But I wouldn’t want the new jerk who replaced her to escape attention, seeing as he came from the PBM business and is likely the reason for my above complaint.
I am getting back into MTG currently after a nearly twenty year lapse. I do like much of how it’s evolved, but every fucking card is a novel now. The math isn’t ever that bad, but it feels like you need a notebook to understand all the cards on the battlefield during a game.

Developing standards, best practices, conventions, etc. One of the most valuable people on my team wrote some incredible quality automations a few years ago, and the only coding he does at this point is updates to them when necessary. By volume, he’s easily bottom 5% this year, but we’d be much worse off without his expertise/advise and the fact he advocates for the team.
This is classic shit management metrics. It would take some time for the rot to set in after using a cudgel approach to a team, and by the time it did, the assholes responsible would have fucked off elsewhere with their huge bonuses.
That may be true in many cases, but some people have more sensitive gums, so it depends how skilled the hygienist is. When I last switched dentists, it was the first time I’d never bled during a visit. Prior dentists told me my oral health was good, but my gums were just very sensitive.
It’s a combination of factors. Having debt itself isn’t as important as payment history, age of accounts, etc. Credit card debt is probably the opposite of helpful; paying off a card every month in full for a long time is much more useful.

Considering how many Americans have crippling credit card debt, especially poor people, would that be worse? I’m sure they’d still offer those credit builder cards with low limits that you have to deposit collateral for the limit.
The merchant is charged the fee, not you directly as the cardholder. It’s already figured into the price if they accept cards.
I’m sure with control over all government branches again they’ll have the ACA completely replaced in no time. For real this time.
I don’t think he even attempted to do math. Someone asked him about it and said what the current budget was, and he just rectally sourced 2 trillion. I assume he said that because it’s big enough to sound huge, but less than half of spending so people don’t panic that everything will be cut.
It’s meaningless bullshit until he actually says specifically what will be cut. Republicans have been claiming they can cut huge chunks of spending for years, but it never materializes. They only know how cut government income without paying for it.

It’s crazy. He was already tied for sixth most SC justices appointed (with seven other presidents). If Alito and Thomas retire and he replaces them, he’ll only be behind Washington, FDR, and Taft. His numbers for other judicial appointments were already very high as well.
People really do not appreciate how long we’ll be feeling the consequences of this if we survive this term and move on to someone sane.
The solutions here don’t seem to really be solutions in my opinion, especially the third one. It’s like if the problem a patent solves was “being able to individually package sandwiches on a conveyor belt” and the solution was “have a machine that recognizes where one sandwich ends and another begins so it can stop and start packaging appropriately.” Like, no kidding, but how?

Indeed. I think it’s why cults of personality are so dangerous. You don’t need to convince that many people if you can get a large enough, dedicated number to consistently do what the leader says and push others around.
I’m not sure that love is the word for Bernie, but I was certainly much more enthusiastic about him. Some people did get weird about it which made me uncomfortable, though. The policy should always come before the politician.
