There is an AI bubble. Just as the Dotcom Bubble, it won’t kill the technology nor slow advancement - it simply selects against companies that are not fiscally responsible or intelligent about their agenda.

This is pathetic. I have been working with an AI, and there are many bugs and oversights that it acknowledges and addresses, ultimately creating a final product. Frankly, you are in denial.
If I had a choice of interns to hire and you were one of them, I would have ruled out hiring you. This is because your lack of objective reality would undermine any project, be it purely human or involving AI.
AI does get things wrong, but it owns up to it when pointed out, and often self corrects once it has observed that something is wrong with the work. Your characterization is straight-up wrong.

Pretty much my situation. My local AI has whipped up some compatibility enhancements for a 2006 game, and about four save editors. Right now, I got it researching The Oregon Trail 2021’s character sheets for editing.
When a Qwen4 Flash is released, I will be looking in recompiling some Windows 3.1 games.
Using a car erodes my ability to persist at using a horse and buggy. Using a powerdrill erodes my ability persist at using a screwdriver. Using a microwave erodes my ability to eat cold food.
Speaking as someone who uses all kinds of technology, AI included, I welcome the erosion.

Qwen Next has been helpful in getting an old game to run on modern Windows - getting the graphics to render properly, adding support for Xbox shoulder triggers, and so on. While I probably could flounder my way through, just having the AI handle things as I sleep overnight is much appreciated.

Honestly, I want a car driven by (a smart) AI, with the vehicle itself designed to be heavily armored and without windows. Just cameras, each put in a spot to allow the car to see around corners, to have a high view of the roads in every direction, maybe some echolocation and infravision.
I don’t want to ever drive, because it makes me feel ill. Trying to figure out how to not cause some sort of disaster, is just not fun.
If it were possible, I would use a teleporter to skip driving outright.
It says that I have an 11-year old child. Unless you count household pets, there ain’t no such thing.
Also, it knows about two out of eight RAM sticks that I bought from Ebay. It mentions other AI assistants learned about me, and asked if I wanted to share. I think assistants from other websites are already sharing.
