  • Shipping would get soooo expensive. I ship all over the US and the pricing from UPS and FedEx stays competitive with USPS, and often USPS will do the last mile delivery in more rural zones. If you remove the limiting price point that the USPS provides to the market, these private shippers will raise prices so high, so fast, it’ll make your head spin.

The margins these companies are willing to charge an individual is actually obscene. I ship pallets every so often, so I have a FedEx freight shipping contract. It discounts my freight costs ~90%. For anyone without a business and no contract they’re happy to charge you 10x more they need to. They profit off the price they charge me, they rake you over the coals because they can. If they have more opportunities to do that, they will.

There are as many houses as people want but not all the the quality or location they want. Manufactured homes can be dropped on lots for a fraction of the price. People live in the central valley and commute so they can have a home for much less. The world will never have everything everyone wants the way they want it. Thats not this world.

If them buying it denied other legitimate buyers with the same purchasing power from doing so, then yes. A home is too unique a purchase to be scalped though. It’s like art in that the house is the only 1 one available exactly like it. The same exact house built on a corner or further in on the block have different values.

2 pairs of the exact same sneaker treated the same from the same production run are practically identical. Market manipulation through scalping is the only method to raise it’s price at the time of market sale.

Tickets have a limited duration they hold ANY value so their prices can be manipulated through scalping too.

Houses just shouldn’t be in the same conversation.

  • He’s didnt endorse him til the last minute. In fact he refused to, to Trump’s face multiple times.

Harris was given many opportunities to come on the show but refused to do so under the same conditions her opponent did. Her team wanted to change the circumstances of the show too much and wouldn’t come to him. Trump completely disregarded a preexisting obligation to go on his show.

If it were my show, I know who I would like better, putting politics aside. I feel like the Rogan episodes I’ve seen haven’t really shown him to be conservative, but he platforms alot of conservatives which can be construed with him being conservative himself.

I think it’s funny that anyone who actually talks about the show like they’ve heard a bunch of episodes gets downvoted while people just saying he’s bad get up voted. It’s more Lemmy echo chamber, in action.

  • I mean… it’s hard to interpret “the problem is her messaging is she didnt come across as a white man with grievances…” as anything but claiming sexism and racism. There’s hyperbole there, but blaming the loss on those factors assumes that people couldn’t have possibly abstained from voting, or voted against her without those factors. I don’t believe that’s the case.

Too frequently we call people these things and basically lock them out of discussion. For example, if you called me a racist, I’d no longer trust anything else you said to me because I know myself and clearly you like telling people things you know nothing about. I think that exchange happened with a bunch of people, which is why there were so many people who just assumed many of the things said about Trump were just political lies made to discredit him. After they experienced the same hyperbole themselves.

That said… theres alot of bigots out there too.
