I now have the hilarious image in my head of a toddler giving their granny a pat down (image of one in case the term isn’t familiar to everyone), thanks! 😂

E: replied to wrong person, oops! 😂
Was killing a murderous CEO a good and inspiring thing to do, and do we need to see more of that kind of direct action? Abso-fucking-lutely.
Is putting anyone, however much you might admire an action/s they took, up on a pedestal, ever a constructive thing to do? No.
Is spouting bigotry ever acceptable? Never.
And the only thing overlooking and brushing off bigotry achieves is more bigotry, and sending the message to the marginalised people around you that you care more about venerating a stranger who causes them harm but made you feel warm and fuzzy for a minute, than you do about ending their oppression.
This is why “no war but the class war” fails every time - intersectionality is essential, and if you don’t use your privilege to prioritise protecting those who are more marginalised than you, even from supposed allies (which a frankly terrifying number of people seem entirely reluctant to do) - then what the fuck are you doing? (enabling and participating in bigotry is what)
If you can’t deal with valid criticism of someone you consider a hero, you’re not a fan, you’re a cult follower, and nothing good has ever come from being part of a cult.
E: Just adding what I’ve seen so far, if your knee jerk reaction is to defend these posts, or brush them off as “error in judgment” or whatever (especially if you would be outraged if, say, some random MAGA had made similar statements, as I’m sure many have), you are saying that their content, and the people it is aimed at, are acceptable collateral damage to you.
Jokes are meant to be funny.
Ah yes, crabs in a bucket, doing yet another of the capitalist’s jobs for them… 🙄
I’m honestly not sure what the point of your story is, if anything, it was a surprisingly good result that the teacher was removed and the child wasn’t abused any further, and quite gross that the protest was against this happening. Sounds like you agree with the protestors and were not happy with that result and think the child should have been subjected to even more scrutiny? Which is an odd point to try and make around a group of autistic people talking about being abused by schools and other institutions.
Literally last month an autistic kid was arrested and suspended for a “bomb threat” AFTER all they found his bag was a stuffed toy.
Also
a otherly-able (I hope this is a okay descriptor)
No, it’s not ok. Disabled is the word you are looking for.
The whole entire thing.
Competition is unnecessary.
Humans are not in a battle for survival, there is enough for everyone.
It is artificial bullshit created and enforced by capitalists to make them as much money and power as possible.
Competition, by definition creates and breeds and encourages inequality and oppression of others.
There is no good reason to cling on to it, never mind try to base a plan for a better society on it
Extreme wealth disparity is not due to a lack of taxes, but rather a lack of competition.
No.
No no no.
This isn’t personal (assuming you wrote this, you mention your site, so I’m assuming) but I’m just so sick and fucking tired of people thinking they’ve seriously analysed the state of affairs of the world, but not only refuse to even name capitalism, let alone point to it as the core problem, but worse, insist on the nonsensical idea that we can and should fix things from within it and under its rules (and in your example, using one of its most toxic and destructive elements), instead of realising the only way to free ourselves is to abolish it entirely, as if capitalism is some sort of natural order we simply can’t exist outside of.
I don’t know if you meant it to, but your analysis gives "an"cp vibes in how close it gets to getting it, and then how fast and how far it eventually veers off course.
Whatever the case. I think you’re close enough to benefit from exploring further if you think you can set your biases aside and sit with the discomfort of unlearning the constructs you’ve been made to believe are natural and unavoidable, otherwise you’re just going to keep skirting the issue but never hitting the point.
Unfortunately autistic kids still today, because knowing that autism exists and is much more common than previously realised hasn’t really stopped anyone, but rather just gives ableists more opportunities to express their ableism.
So you’re not, in fact, “super supportive” at all then, are you, and are not, in fact, worth hearing out… 🙄
For context:
In 2023, the telecommunications company Orange generated around 17.73 billion euros in revenue in France. The revenue of Orange in the European country has fluctuated over recent years and peaked at around 18.5 billion euros in 2020.
Yup, it’s more of a thing those in power like to tell themselves to maintain their cognitive dissonance and keep them as far removed as they can from the direct consequences of their actions.
Also @[email protected] - I think this thread would fit right in to your collection.
Yeah, because being objectified and sexualised from before you even hit puberty, having fewer rights (including those to your own body), getting paid less for the same work and not at all for all the work that isn’t considered work by men like raising kids and running a home, wondering if we’re one of the women who WILL statistically get murdered by their partner on any given week, being subjected to near constant rape threats and almost certainly (again, statistically it’s pretty much all women) surviving sexual harassment and abuse if not rape too and then facing an entire system dedicated to discrediting and blaming you while protecting the abusers (“wouldn’t want to ruin his life over a bit of fun”), as well as having to deal with misogynistic asshats such as yourself who convince themselves that because men buy us drinks at bars (in an expectation of sex, of course) we’ve got it easy, and pretend none of the other things are happening because it’s easier to gaslight your victims than it is to accept that you’re a massive and active part of the problem, on a daily basis, is a real fucking treat…
Ass.
Because bigots can’t help but out themselves, it’s like some sort of fucked up reflex they have…

Fair enough, I get your point that there is a philosophical question with no consensus on an answer in the kind of example you gave (potentially, unknowingly, unintentionally causing harm to a single individual at some hypothetical point in the future), and that there are interesting discussions to be had about those kinds of situations, but I still maintain that the example bares no relevance to the situation we’re discussing here (deliberately, certainly, directly and immediately causing the deaths and suffering of countless people), because as you say yourself, it’s quite easy to make the direct link from CEO to deaths.
You’re still allowed to have a billion
Why? Why do you feel the need to hold on to this “aspiration”?
You will never become a billionaire, stop defending your exploiters.
demotivating
that’s the motherfucking point, bootlicker.
