My reasoning for why “infinite” would be easy to remember is because “infinity” is notably a word with only i as a main vowel (excluding the y)
But I see what you mean too
I always told people “definitely is spelled like infinitely, so just remember how to spell infinite”
But I suppose “finite” is even better than “infinite” since there’s less to remember.
It’s getting really fucking annoying to look at steam reviews and discussions and running across several “is it woke?” posts.
Often times, it will be “one black NPC in a historically white environment, one female in a combat position, it’s been ruined by wokeness.”
Or often “two non-essential NPCs are in a gay relationship, stay away” when they could be entirely avoided by accident.
It’s disappointing.
I’ve been really into Meridian 59 lately, but haven’t been playing in the past couple of weeks. Thanks for the reminder.
I, too, quite like Genesis
EDIT: I just realized someone else made the same post :'(
The easiest way to think about it is that 1 full rotation (2*pi radians) in 1 second makes 1 Hz.
The number of rotations made in a second corresponds to Hz in the same way that the number of sine wave periods that fit in a second also represents Hz. This gif does a really good job of showing how rotation relates to sine/cosine waves, which just so happens to help visualize the rad/s -> Hz <- periods/s relationship:
I suppose the fix is to find a basic drink to neutralize the acid before it burns your mouth?
I can’t think of any basic drinks…
EDIT: Apparently, milk, tea, and certain juices are basic/alkaline.
To be fair, I think there’s a distinction to be made between “something is wrong, blow up the missile before it hits the wrong target” and “target reached, blow up the missile”
You made me doubt myself lol, I was like “you’re right, 540° neck turning range seems excessive so I should do a search”
I know it’s not a scientific paper or anything, but a quick search led me to Smithsonian Magazine’s article:
“Owls, on the other hand, can rotate their necks up to 270 degrees in either direction without damaging the vessels running below their heads…”
So what you’re saying is that power creep and meta chasing ruined the build creativity in the Earth server?
I mean, if they can turn 270 degrees in either direction then I suppose they can cover 360 degrees, just not from resting position.
Yeah, definitely can’t rely on it for too long. Double granite walls can hold off basic enemies for a ridiculous amount of time, though.
This is advice I’ve given to new Rimworld players, and I hope it was helpful. The game (on most difficulties) is itching to give you the next “scenario.”
Building your wealth in valuable equipment is not very good at the start of the game, because your town’s silver value will go up much faster than its defensive/offensive capabilities. You end up putting a target on your back for raids.
Better to build a surrounding wall and set up trap corridors than to worry about getting everyone a gun.
But why did they blend a very hi-poly reddit alien with a super corny looking voxel banana?? It neither fits nor looks good?
Only thing I can think of is installations that include drivers. And even then, not all of them.
That’s not the American flag, but I get what you mean. I believe that’s Liberia’s flag.
I think people underestimate the value of intertia in power generation. I liken it to the way capacitors regulate voltage changes or coilovers absorb bumps and vibrations.
The inertia of the generators connected to the grid helps stabilize frequency changes caused by blackouts, power plant issues, etc. by resisting and thereby slowing down frequency decline. It buys time for grid operators to find a way to balance loads in a way that doesn’t weaken or disable the grid as a whole.
Here’s a great NREL report explaining how this all works, and what other systems we use to stabilize grid frequency.
