Arrived because r*ddit banned Infinity, stayed because I’m a Communist tankie.
I always preferred and liked FOSS stuff anyway but somehow never heard of Lemmy/Graad/Hexbear until the API fiasco. I guess I always avoided the Chapo sub because I never listened to the show and I generally dislike those shows and personalities. I’m an older Commie, I didn’t get radicalized by Bernie or podcasts or steamers or whatever so I kept my distance. Seems like I missed out though. Glad to be here now.
I have Heliboard and it works great.
Not sure if it’s different but I use swipe on it and I love it.
I just meant I hear GOSCam is actually better now than it was when I first got Graphene. So, if I had another chance (realistically I could do it now but I’m lazy to change it) then I would just stick with GOSCam to avoid having any Google software.
You can change the icons with a different launcher. Try Lawnchair.
I think it’s pretty good, although I did install the isolated GCam but I wouldn’t with another chance.
I hear battery is better but I can’t confirm.
I haven’t used the sandboxed services other than the isolated GCam but that worked great.
I’ve used Graphene for years now and I’ve loved it!
We can use this post to start.
Does anyone remember a movie from the 2010’s set in New York where an unpopular kid in high school hooks up with a popular girl over the summer and he falls for her but it turns out she was just using him to get experience before going after more popular guys? I just remember they played Can I Kick It? and other old hip hop in the movie.
WTF, I love Trump now.
Have you been reading something on a page and not moved your mouse for 5 seconds?
You’re away from the keyboard drinking cocktails at the beach alert.
Liberalism.
Liberals are welcome here!
Unironically, Hexbear.
Perfectly normal country where people start a family at 56.
Then: Don’t download applications and run executables you don’t fully trust.
Now: Download everyone’s new snazzy app just because and scan everything with your phone that contains all your most private information so you can unlock a surprise!
In the US, especially in the 90’s, there were a lot promotional mailers, TV ads, and so on to prey on people’s desperation and ignorance that were sent out that would say that the person has “a chance to win $1M!” or “may have already won!”
Of course, I’ve never heard of anyone who actually won anything from them. It was probably just a data collection thing or asking people to send $20 to enter the fake lottery, I’m not sure. But, I have to admit, I did join a lot of those because I was a kid and I thought it’d be fun or easy and my dad would humor me by going through the process—or, at least, pretend that he did. We never won anything though.
I do wish Pop!_OS had a better hibernate/sleep mode.
My computer just stays on until I turn it off or the battery dies.
