To my understanding Datadog is not FOSS. Would you guys consider using a FOSS alternative for motoring the status of lemmy.world such as Uptime Kuma? That way your who stack is closer to being FOSS.

Im not a fan of no identifiers. Sure simplex is secure with it but I would like to see something like simplex that uses 24 word seed phrases to generste millions of unique identifiers the user can easily backup and restore from a piece of paper and not from a digital backup file.
Is this just another front end for lemmy.world or another instance all together?
Wait, so this will allow phones with supported hardware to SMS and calls anywhere in the world, even in the middle of nowhere with no cellular coverage?
They need to create the communities they mod on lemmy and there are plenty of instances to choose from.
Not surprised, i messaged many moderators about a community in lemmy and many seem to care less. However I got a few moderators over from reddit onto lemmy.
If it is a by invitiation instance. Then it is up to the user to do a backup before their subscription expires.
Making reddit go back to their own ways is not victory. We need to get redditors onto Lemmy. It is up to us to use Lemmy and spread its awareness to redditors.
Why not “lemmyverse” for lemmy federation?
Any plans to allow cryptocurrency donations to help fund the costs of the servers? If you post a Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin address in the sidebar under Donations, I will send some crypto now and them to help with the costs.
The instance seems to be much better. Posting and commenting is not taking as long and loading times are way better. I hope things can stay this good or even get better.
it meant the communities INSIDE the instance would not transmit out… but the rest would work as normal.
Lets say you have a private federated instance named salk.world. salk.world users can access, post and comment on other instances like lemmy.world but other instances and users cannot view content on salk.world?
Before when you can check off federation and private instance, you could not view the instance unless you were logged in but could you view the instance from another instance being logged into another instance or no being logged into another instance?
Or does it only federate in a way were users inside the private instance can access the fediverse but the fediverse cannot access the private instance?
By leaving the federation box unchecked and having the private box checked off, will the instance not be visible to the public unless your logged in?
Do not protest reddit. Boycott reddit for good and live in the lemmyverse.
If your lemmy instance gets unbearable, there will always be another lemmy instance to go to.
If you do use reddit, it should be to post and comment about lemmy to inform the current redditors to move to lemmyverse.
Before you do, if you made any useful posts be sure to copy and paste them onto lemmy so they will not get deleted from the internet.
