Drag rides dragons and also “rides” dragons. drag/dragself person-independent pronouns. That means drag’s pronouns are the same in first, second, and third person.
So you’re saying drag should make dozens of repetitive shitposts reiterating the same point until the 196 audience is familiar enough with the issue to understand more complex humour on the topic. Okey dokey, sounds like fun!
Hm. Drag thought the thesis was presented clearly in the last line. “Lemmy users are upset because they hate trans people”. Cunk starts off by agreeing with the dominant Lemmy view that the site is full of trolls, and then flips the script by telling the truth. Cunk starts off on the reader’s level, sharing their false assumptions, and then unexpectedly tells a truth the reader doesn’t know. That’s how drag understands effective communication to work, start from the reader’s knowledge and then tell them something they don’t know. Perhaps there are nuances to the format of communication that drag doesn’t understand.
Bizarre. Are you used to seeing versions of the format where Philomena is 100% right? Drag has seen plenty of memes that do that, and drag thinks they misunderstand the format.
Out of curiosity, have you ever watched a Philomena Cunk show? Drag is wondering if that’s part of what makes the difference
All drag’s friends on Discord understood the joke on their first read. Drag isn’t sure where the misunderstanding is. We’re currently in a voice call trying to figure out why anyone doesn’t understand this one. Drag’s friend suggested maybe you don’t think Lemmy is full of transphobes, but drag thinks you do, since you’ve said Lemmy is very misogynistic, and those two things go together. Maybe you didn’t understand that Cunk is supposed to be wrong about the trolls actually existing but right about what the problem the users have is?
Hm. Maybe it was too subtle? Cunk is explaining why “trolls pretending to be trans” is supposed to be a problem on Lemmy, using her usual brand of accidentally telling it like it is. Lemmy only has a “troll problem” because Lemmy users hate trans people. No trans hate, no troll problem. If everyone respected trans people, nobody would be getting called a troll. If anyone actually tried to troll that way, they’d be met with acceptance and have no power.
Anyone who thinks pretending to be trans is an effective troll hates trans people.
Wanna get mad? Yesterday drag made a similar post criticising Lemmy, but it focused on the transphobia on the platform. -46 downvotes. Thread full of transphobia anyway. On Blahaj. https://lemmy.nz/post/17415487
Sorry Natural Intelligence bros, but meat can’t think. You’ve been duped into thinking human beings are conscious by Big Omega 3. Intelligence can only exist in computers using real electricity. Not that piddly ion pump stuff.
This was in the days after Donald Trump won the election, when everyone was already hopeless. Drag reminded the hopeless people that we need to stand up and fight instead of laying down and doing Trump’s job for him.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diane_Morgan
Morgan is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Philomena Cunk, a dim-witted, ill-informed, yet earnest interviewer and commentator on history, culture and current affairs.
Drag was literally paraphrasing Wikipedia. Also drag doesn’t use he/him pronouns.
BOOOOOOORIIIIIING
Thanks, but drag had no intention of starting any drama. Drag was doing some observational comedy. Seinfeld type stuff. Working drag’s daily experiences into a joke. Drag thought the meme was clever and would be well-received. Drag wasn’t expecting people to go bringing a whole lot of drama into the thread.
Did you think drag was insulting the actor’s intelligence? You do know Philomena Cunk is a fictional character, right? She’s written to be dumb, it’s part of the joke. The writing on her shows is very good, she’s a very believable sort of fool.
Drag doesn’t use he/him pronouns, and doesn’t identify as a guy. You’re allowed to disagree with drag’s gender identity and think trans people should only be allowed to identify as genders you approve of, but assigning an entirely new gender onto drag is taking things a bit too far.
That’s a bit of an ironic thing to say if you’re a human.
Don’t you get to see snow glistening if you watch a movie like The Thing?
Most don’t, but there’s a very vocal minority who do. The lady in the picture is Philomena Cunk, a well meaning reporter with a head full of bricks. She’s a satirical character who makes fun of news media, pop culture, and political viewpoints. You shouldn’t take anything she says entirely seriously. The meme only exists to make the point that people who think pretending to be trans is an effective troll hate trans people. Here’s another example of the format which drag made a few hours ago:
Yes, but then they changed their minds. And then they decided to keep drag banned for secret reasons.
