4·13 days agoSynapse is the backend that you install on the server. Element is the client that connect to your backend. Now Matrix has many backends and many clients. Synapse + Element is probably the best fully-featured combo that we have, but also the most complicated.

Pretty sure some priests are pedophiles too.
Doomed if you do. Doomed if you don’t. So might as well be a man and do what you believe in.

2·18 days agoI tried Kdenlive, but was overwhelmed the moment I opened it. So I went back to Shotcut. Here’s what I do:
- Simple basic editing = Shotcut
- More complex editing = Davinci Resolve

2·19 days agoI’d need to try it. I recently tried the “Universal Davinci Resolve Installer” script and it didn’t work. I’m currently using Maple Linux which is debian based.

3·19 days agoThat’s good to know! I used POP_OS for many years that seems quite similar. I don’t think they has a Davinci installer, but you can have nvidia and GPU drivers preconfigured.

7·19 days agoYeah, I know. I’ve never used Krita, but I do have the paid version of Davinci Resolve. But it can be tricky to make it work on Linux, I only use it when I need complex editing. Shotcut is simpler to use and more straight forward.

44·19 days agoA few years ago, I subscribed to Adobe for about 2 weeks. But my conscience wouldn’t let me, I had to cancel the sub and get a refund.
Deep down, it’s like I knew something was wrong. And that was before I got introduced to Adobe memes.
Turns out Inkscape/GIMP/Shotcut are good enough for my needs. The Affinity suite is pretty good too though. I hope it gets supported on Linux eventually.

Damn, I might need to hop to Kali
